There’s a part of me that wants to let go, to walk away from the job that’s been draining me.

But another part trembles at the thought of what comes next. The unknown is louder than I expected. Maybe it’s not the leaving that’s hard it’s the emptiness waiting on the other side. The uncertainty terrifies me.

Felt I could have written this. It’s why I continue to endure a stressful job that I don’t get paid nearly enough to do. But it’s almost like we’re all in that tiny soaking boat and all we can do is try to keep our heads above water until we see the shore in the horizon.

I think the point will come for many of us where we’ll get too tired to float anymore and decide to tackle the unknown because it’ll legit feel like the lesser of two evils. It’s just so hard to do when you don’t know if the shore you’re swimming to is solid land or just a mirage.

Honestly dude, hemmeroid jokes aside, I've been there done that. it is super scary, but stagnation is scarier than moving forward.

The last few years has been a leap of faith for me but it's starting to pay off, more freedom, money etc. is it hard at times? Yes, but that's the sacrifice. If it's already hard then there's nothing to lose.

Do you know what you want?. And better yet you probably know what you don't want.

Get a plan together, even if it's hypothetical and really set yourself up to succeed. You can't do more than that 🤘

You could always send out resumes to other places while working to lift your spirits that you are seeking a better job; it does help knowing you are seeking better and if something comes along that you want to switch too it gets rid of the unknow anxiety.
I think it's a step to moving forward, it's always scary. I think though will be Worth it

Any couches you could sleep on if the WORST happens..or parents who would welcome you back..you'd get another position ,of that I'm sure

The emptiness can be intimidating but it’s also a space where something new can grow. You don’t have to fill it all at once.
You're a good person

Never do anything good that it becomes a detriment to your own health and well being especially mental health

Keep the faith … trust the process

Everything will fall into it’s rightful place 🙏🏼

They say either have another job lined up before or have 3 months of income saved up if you're going to quit a job.
@Justmeraeagain
I'm leaning to being jobless at this point.
YoMomma ·
There are other jobs.. you should look into other job openings before walking away? 🙂 check out your options?
come2gether · 46-50, M
Don't leave until you have a new job.
@come2gether
I can't. Once I'm done with my contract either I have to renew or leave.
come2gether · 46-50, M
@mindstruggle ah, I'm a contractor as well, I have lived with the uncertainty for 20 years
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@mindstruggle I was in the same situation and I didn't sign a new contract even if I didn't have another job. Then Pandemic hit. 😐

Sounds like freedom is scary.
Alyosha · 36-40, M
@BittersweetPotato Not once you're free.
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
@Alyosha It can be tiring.. as you have option and choices. Decisions to make.
Alyosha · 36-40, M
@BittersweetPotato Or you can decide to just let it be and go with the flow. Nothing tiring about that.
The emptiness, when one is already empty is terrifying
