Why can't I lose weight?

What is wrong with me? v.v I count my calories, I measure everything to be accurate. I eat on average 1,000-1,300 calories a day and I exercise. wtf

and before you recommend seeing a doctor or nutritionist, I can't. I don't have health insurance.

Cut all all sugary/sweetend drinks/ drink water & green tea only (no sugar) .... do not eat anything processed as well, start running if you can ... you can follow my journey here https://similarworlds.com/story?fid=2&tid=607216&name=Community

Best thing would be to eat well, exercise well (do what makes you happy). And by all means don't worry about your weight.
When you eat a healthy diet and regularly exercise your body will burn some fat, but will also build muscle mass so quite often you can be doing all the right things and not notice a decrease of body weight due to the extra muscle you have produced, In-fact some people who put a lot of effort in notice their weight increase because of the substantial amount of muscle they have built.

Your not over weight, don't put so much pressure on the weight thing get it out of you mind. Live in moderation and be carefree.

People often eat more calories than they realize on accident. Everyone has different metabolic needs as well. It's also possible that you might be retaining water, masking real weight loss.

It might also be that it hasn't been long enough to show. Suppose your metabolic need was about 1600kcal a day. If you are eating 1300, it would take over 10 days to lose a pound.

Don't get discouraged though. Losing weight is meant to be hard. Your body makes it hard on purpose. Look out for your health first though.

I count everything, added oil, condiments, etc. I have been doing this for like 2 months and gained weight. v.v My weight was lower when I was eating frozen pizza's and not exercising.

It doesn't seem like you need to lose weight judging from your pic.

@MorbidCynic: i can suggest a few things that i tried cut out all sugar and white bread from your diet and don't eat until your full stop just before you are
Xena123451-55, F
@MorbidCynic: I agree, you are heavy for your height. I am about your height and I weight 115. I don't understand how you weight that much considering the calories you consume each day. You and I consume about the same calories each day. I also eat some candy, etc. most days.
MorbidCynicF
@Xena1234: I recently picked up these habits since around mid December. I weighed 145 then. I don't know whats happening. >.> I used to eat way more so I know why I was fat then but now I'm lost. v.v
Flenflyys31-35, F
Because you eat too much and exercise too little
MorbidCynicF
@Flenflyys: I looked on several online calculators to get what I should be around. -.- Maybe once I get my insurance situated.

What you eat and how you cook it (including serving temperature) is more important than merely counting calories. You need resistant starches to have a prebiotic in your colon, and it creates a chemical that balances neurotransmitters and hormones (among other things) and that raises metabolism rates.

Are you drinking much water? If you are keeping your calories low enough it should work. I keep mine under what they recommend. I don't follow mainstream too much. We don't need as much food as we think, I don't believe..
MorbidCynicF
@Magenta: yes, a lot actually
You look just fine 2me
CoffeeFirst56-60, F
Sometimes you need to actually eat 100-200 cal. more a day to actually lose. But I struggle, too, so I do not have the answers! --DW
StevetheSleeve31-35, M
That seems strange. But maybe your body is just telling you that you're fine the way you are.

It takes a long time to change your body shape, gaining or losing. Just do it healthily and slowly
Why do you want to lose weight?
@MorbidCynic: Are you feeling sick or unhealthy somehow?
MorbidCynicF
@kekobaka: yess
@MorbidCynic: how?

Muscle weighs more than fat. If you're gaining muscle while you lose fat, you won't lose any weight. Maybe exercise less, or boost your metabolism too
SW-User
@MorbidCynic: No muscle is leaner than fat it is a fact.
Challenger1M
@MorbidCynic: Muscle has a higher density than fat, this means that with less volume you can have more weight. Yes, pound for pound it is the same. But you take 3 ml of fat and 3 ml of muscle the muscle will weigh more.

What she is saying is right. If you are building up muscle while losing fat your weight won't change and there is nothing wrong with that. Health has a lot more to do with body weight concentrations or fat percentage than it does with your actual weight. So keep exercising and eating a healthy balanced diet and I think you will find that your energy levels rise, you sleep better, and you feel more focused.

On another note, make sure you are getting enough sleep. You also might want to increase your calorie consumption slightly, up to 1400-1600 to make sure that you are getting enough nutrients. It is better to eat healthy and slowly lose weight than it is to try and cut fast.

Keep in mind that a woman in your age group has a base calorie consumption of about 1800 (Base meaning without doing anything) so this means that if you are working out you will be burning significantly above this. Probably to the tune of 2300. You do need energy to keep going.
Flenflyys31-35, F
It's extremely difficult for women to develop muscle mass though. If that was the case she would be seeing the difference. @MarsSword:
Could just be your body...

I know you can apply for government assistance. Depending on your income, most health insurance is free for doctor and other medical visits, also for prescriptions.
CoppercoilM
You're perfect. Don't fuss. I don't give a shit about BMI calculators and neither does president putin, and neither should you. Plus your bio is cute and you got style and a cool face.
SW-User
You might need to try a different exercise routine.
SW-User
But routines aren't one-size-fits-all. It could be the most effective, but that's no guarantee it works for everyone. My brother-in-law was a personal trainer. I heard the lecture all the time that different people with their different goals needed different workouts. 馃槄
MorbidCynicF
@Ephemeral: eh I was just going by actual studies backed up by other fitness experts but whatever.
SW-User
And going by your own results? If it's working for you, then go for it. If not, then it's something to consider.
SW-User
It must be metabolism or a weak thyroid, you really will need medical advice, sorry. Can you not get medicaid?
SINAIT
You should start with the health insurance.
MorbidCynicF
I can't afford it
You need sexercise.. 5 days a week
MorbidCynicF
no partner tho
