More people now attending churches online [Spirituality & Religion]

It is a fact that the number of people attending church online has actually risen since buildings were closed down!

That picture looks more like a rock concert than a church service - and appearances can be deceptive but it seems hardly "social distancing" - but it's an interesting point.

An Iman on the radio the other morning said though it seemed strange to be preaching to a camera and microphone in an empty mosque, he discovered his Internet broadcasts had attracted a much bigger congregation in their homes than is normally in the building.

@ArishMell I know churches in Ireland who worship the same way as we do

@Speedyman As in the photo? I think it is fairly common now, though it would not suit every one. Besides, what matters is the message and there is no "right" or "wrong" way to worship God as long as it does respect both God and other forms of sincere worship.

Agreed! @ArishMell

@Speedyman super tragic

There's no mention of that in the bible.

@Speedyman the beauty of the Book of Revelation is that it is so vague as to allow the reader to assign any interpretation he desires to it and no one can counter the interpretation based on the Book of Revelation. Just a side note of interest to me. I never preach out of the Book of Revelation. I base my sermons on three points the Old Testament combined with a Gospel account and a lesson from the Epistles. I find too many people go off the deep end from reading or trying to understand Revelation.

@Speedyman John was on the island of patmos and His book of Revelation came to him in the form of a Vision Speedyman.. So John did not need to know what the TV or screen was, How it worked.. All he needed to do was describe what He saw from a first century persons perspective and the way he described it was pretty good for a first century man..

Never mind keep going on your platonic view of prophecy@Adstar

Yes people are hearing the gospel at home who would never have gone to church. Families where only one person would attend are now all listening!
It's great the way God used technology
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@Speedyman Errr, that's what I said! (Assuming a God of course.)
Speedyman · 70-79, M
@ArishMell apologies - I missed that post.

It is a pity. There is an awsome atmosphere in cathedrals
