Does anyone else find parts of the bible to be hilarious? [Spirituality & Religion]

And i don't mean in a mocking "haw haw look how silly this is" sort of way. I mean is there anyone else who genuinely enjoys and finds certain parts of the bible to be funny within the context of the story?

Like when Moses spent week climbing the mountain to get the Commandments, but when he came back and saw what people were doing he broke them.

It's funny to me cause he spent weeks climbing that mountain to get them, only to break them when he got back and had climb all the way back up to get new ones.

In my head this how that talk went

Moses "Oh beloved God please I beg of thee in thy boundless love and wisdom to-"

God "You broke my commandment didn't you?"

Moses sheepishly "Yeah."

God lets out the largest disappointed dad sigh "Ok. Moses, listen me, yet again. I made you and I cherish you from now until the end of forever. But, I swear to me, if you break my commandment again. I punish you so severely it make the plagues of Egypt look like a slap on the wrist. Am I clear?"

Moses shaking as he grabs the new commandments "Yes Father. Thank you. I love you.

God "I love you too."
@IsaiahIMS

lol yeah that's pretty good. Or how Aaron was like "I dunno! they gave me a bunch of gold so i turned it into a calf and worshipped it, what was i supposed to do?!"
IsaiahIMS · 26-30, M
@Pikachu Or even how Isaiah was chosen. Sure God appeared before him, but still that boiled down to

God "Who can I send to talk to the people?"

Isaiah "Me! Pick me! Please, please please! Pick me! Me!"
@IsaiahIMS

lol quite the opposite of Moses.

23 Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up by the way, young lads came out from the city and mocked him and said to him, “Go up, you baldhead; go up, you baldhead!” 24 When he looked behind him and saw them, he cursed them in the name of the LORD. Then two female bears came out of the woods and tore up forty-two lads of their number. 25 And he went from there to Mount Carmel, and from there he returned to Samaria.
@SW-User

lol yes, another good example.

@Pikachu I love the way it casually segues

I always laugh at the description of Esau as 'an hairy man.'

Also the way the normally polite KJV English goes on about 'everyone that pisseth against the wall.' I mean, the begetting was at least dignified, for the most part, but they had yet to develop washrooms in the times of the Kings and Chronicles.
purplepen · 51-55, F
@Pikachu It certainly sounds funnier in the old KJV. Also before Lazarus was raised from the dead, Martha said, 'He stinketh.'
@purplepen

lol stinketh is a good word

@purplepen And this is more than funny, it proved that he was really dead.

One thing I find to be amusing is that people have made statements like you for hundreds of years and then the Bible has outlived them all! The Bible has had the last laugh on everyone of them! 🤣
Speedyman · 70-79, M
People like you project their own hatred on to other people. Your posts are full of hatred as anyone can see. I’m just telling you the truth and you’re trying to wriggle out of it because you can’t accept it@Pikachu
@Speedyman

lol empty criticism. You can't even point to one single example and yet you still can't stand to admit you're wrong.
Imagine my surprise...😏

Point proven. You are dismissed.

I Believe one of the guys in the Bible Ate bugs lol
Speedyman · 70-79, M
Together with a whole load of other people in those days. In fact if you go to Africa and other lands these days you’ll find people still go eat bugs. Good nutrition when people have little food. @JohnOinger
Kids aren't exactly encouraged to find the humour in the Bible. Maybe if you gave us an example.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
I’m not babbling about anything. If you are babbling idiocrasies . Once again you are absolutely clueless about what you’re talking about in that you are trying to put a 20th century mind into an ancient society. The problem is as well you’re the 20th century mind is underdeveloped And cannot reason outside its own box. @Pikachu
@Speedyman

lol awww buddy...

And your obsession with cartoons is another point@Pikachu
