Yes and very soon too! I believe within a few years at the most.

It's by no means certain he ever existed in the first place. It's quite likely he was just the personification of a rebel movement.

i think he was a human, we do not return from death

It depends on how you look at it.
When someone refers to something that has actually occurred, it is not opinion.

Not for the community of Hindus, Jews, Muslims. They're waiting for someone else too. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
As an agnostic, I am waiting for my pizza which would certainly arrive in 5 minutes or the delivery boy has to pay. 😂

Come on, after all the shit we've pulled in the past 2000 years, do you really think he's going to come back to this dump?
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@SW-User
He's not only going to come back to this dump but he will make all things new, including this dump. That's His promise to us.

Unfortunately a man named John Darby in the 1800s made extremely popular the idea that Jesus would in physical form return to Earth. He did this by lifting phrases from various passages in the Bible, pasted them together with his own agenda, and voila -- now the majority of protestant Christians have accepted a fictitious narrative from Darby's (mis)doings as Biblical fact.
While it is a difficult discipline to set aside one's own feelings and things adopted as fact from what others have said, I recommend a very easy, short read by a master professor from Duke School of Divinity. The book is "Revelation for Today" and was written by James Efird.
Bear in mind that what I think and feel about the Written Word is not relevant. What is actually in the Holy Scriptures is relevant. Have a clean look at the various texts used to support Darby's teachings. You'll find that his conclusions simply aren't in there
Lenetra, excellent question. Thank you for initiating dialogue among all us SW friends. We may be far separated by distances of geography and perspectives, but how tremendously fortunate it is for all of us to participate in forum discussions with others!

Well that's nice. But I have never heard of him in Sweden where I read my Swedish Bible. I never went to church as a child and I learned it from Jesus by reading my Bible carefully. I disagree with most churches and pastors who sound like all the non Christians around and many don't agree with me. God only save 8 people when he flooded the world in Noahs days, and many think they are saved now but following other "Christs" I believe since Jesus said so.But I get my knowledge from God himself in the Bible and I don't read any spiritual books except the Bible. I pass out "Matthew 24" to my little town one house at a time and people are changing here reading the Bible, Praise God.

You missed him. He said he would be back 2000 years ago when that generation was still alive. So he was here and now he’s gone again. Oh well.
Carazaa · F
@LeopoldBloom No he didn't say that because why would he talk about wars and rumors of wars etc then?
Carazaa · F
Absolutely! I believe he is returning in this generation even. Jesus said when you see these signs which we are seeing now he would return and judge the living and the dead.
The worlds state right now is indicative of His returning. Some believe there are more signs to come but I doubt it. The biggest sign that Jesus talked about is the falling away from faith, and people not believing, and false "Christ" having tickling ears and believing what they want to believe. And also the diaspora, the Jews scattering and coming back to their homeland, increased travel, increased knowledge, iniquity and cold hearts, increased of great earthquakes, increased pestilences, increased knowledge, and mocking God and his people. This is prophesy coming true before our very eyes! That was NOT happening when I was young. Penicilin worked fine then, there were no computers, people didn't travel as much, people didn't mock God openly, and no crime where I was living.

He definitely is, but first, the rapture!
This event comes BEFORE His Second Coming.
Carazaa · F
Absolutely. Most churches don't preach about it as to not appear foolish. But I am convinced that we will see his return in our generation. We don't know the day or hour but Jesus told us the signs of the generation to see his return. Many churches believe in a rapture before the great tribulation. I don't see that anywhere in the Bible because Jesus says "Immediately SFTER the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened etc.. After means after and I kind of think we are in it now or right before it.

John 14:19 "Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more..."
No, Jesus will not make a physical reappearance on this Earth. Darbyism gained popularity in the 18th century, and his maniacal teachings took and has maintained a prominent foothold because everyone wants the hope and promise of a great, beneficial change in the (hopefully near) future.
No, the return of a physical Messiah is a gross misinterpretation of very clear Biblical texts. There will be no future "battle of Armageddon," no "rapture" or any other "church lore" occurrences (loosely) based on (mis)readings of Biblical texts.
We are not in the "last days." We are in the "last age," the post-resurrection age/era. We don't live in fear of "what if ______ when Jesus comes back." That is utter nonsense. We live in this last and final era/age of "What's the best thing to do, the right thing to do, the wise thing to do?"

Many scholars believe that the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, is a foretelling if end times, where Lot symbolizes the “church”that God wii pull out of the world before the Tribulation,
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@RemovedUsername1010738
Actually, it will be mid tribulation because the first few years will be peace before the destruction. If you recall, Lot and his family spent sometime in those evil cities before God passed judgment on them.

@RemovedUsername1010738 Yes many of the happenings in the OT where foreshadows for end times events.. Jesus made that clear..
(Luke 17:28-30) "Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; {29} But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. {30} Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed."
