Depends on WHO it's coming from and if it actually is something valid.

Depends on what kind of course and what the motivation of the speaker was.
It is also how they tried to give the criticism.
If they come on full barrel with accusations of course I'm going to react defensively.
But I can take constructive criticism when the approach is kind and I know they are concerned about me.

Both. I'm working on getting better at this. Was raised by extremely critical mother, so any criticism is viewed as being attacked instead of a possible learning experience. I am trying.

Depends who the criticism comes from and if it's constructive. I can accept it if it's coming from a good place and the intent is ultimately to build me up. I've known some people who have only wanted to tear me down and steal my happiness. Those I have no problem cutting out of my life if that's an option.

Very much depends on the circumstances. If it's from a good friend I will always listen respectfully...before I ignore them. 🤣
Horok · 31-35, M
People rarely criticise me out of the good Ness of their heart and really wants me to get better.
Most of the times I didn't do something that expected me to do but they didn't ask for.

I listen, but people read me wrong regularly. I don't get defensive but just speak my truth and move on.
HoeBag · 51-55, F
I do not get criticism. Probably because I am practically perfect.
Unless it was at my old job. Then it was almost daily. I tended to ignore it. Cause apparently, saying "Whatever" wasn't a nice response.

It depends on how it's delivered. It can be Constructive or Destructive. One makes a person better while the other just builds a wall.

No qualifications necessary to be a critic.
Annoying then that so many choose to be so.
But if it's in a professional setting, better know what you're about and choose your words carefully or I'll eat you alive.

If I'm sober I listen. If I'm drunk, I sometimes listen, sometimes get defensive.

Depends on the situation. When attacked I will defend myself.
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
@DeWayfarer That goes double for me.
Prettybratbi1tch · 26-30, F
How dare you criticize me???
Depends on situation and source. Even then it tends to be either listening or in one ear, out the other. Not interested in arguing the point.

Depends on if it's constructive or not.
Listen, that’s how we know what bothers people
