Do you sugarcoat things or are you brutally honest?

👀
easterniowegin · 51-55, M Best Comment
I think the ability to discern when/how to give feedback is important. Sometimes brutally honest is necessary. Other times not.
Shadyglow · F
@NoGamesTolerated Well then confusion must be the MOTHER of all emotions. I've tried to learn to live with it since losing the 850.

Actually it was more than that . It cost a lot just to cross those 4 states to make the visit in the first place.

But in my world no one even secretly WANTS to be lied to. People don't have a secret desire to be robbed blind by a brand new friend or anyone else. I haven't visited that institution yet, if I'm wrong...
@Shadyglow I’m ending this cause we are definitely not on the same page… and what you are saying makes no sense at all as a reply to my comment!
Shadyglow · F
@NoGamesTolerated thanks for the punch in the face. BYE!!

I think it takes a lot more intelligence and charisma to convey a criticism or a truth in a way that positively engages the other person versus blatantly expressing something. I struggle with doing that
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@PepsiColaP Agreed, honestly doesn't necessarily mean you have to brutal or insensitive. I find that saying something tactfully can convey the truth in a positive way. An intelligent person can usually see through this but might appreciate the effort.
@JimboSaturn my mum is very good at this and I have noticed how it actually helps me be more recipient to what she is saying and also willing to change or look into whatever criticism about me is being conveyed as opposed to my dad who will just directly tell me the same thing and my first response will be the defensive haha
exchrist · 31-35
@PepsiColaP again thank you ive been much more able to swallow my pride since my surgery i was pretty level headed anyway but much calmee now my graduate degree attests to that
hunkalove · 61-69, M
I'm only honest if I'm not going to get laid.
pancakeslam · 41-45, M
@hunkalove so... rarely then
hunkalove · 61-69, M
@pancakeslam Yeah, but I'm okay.
Shadyglow · F
@hunkalove do men always get polite and shy when they DONT want u, in a way that you're absolutely not supposed to know they are heading 4 the door?

Seems like at such times they are exhibiting their BEST behavior. Kind of paradoxical though, no?
Maybe the going status of life itself..is very nicely OFF!
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
I don't sugar coat shit, I'm not Willy Wonka
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@wildbill83 thats how it should be
Uniquesara · 41-45, F
@wildbill83 willy wonka😘
Eyeinthesky · 56-60, F
Not easy making sugarcoat comments to someone when it is not true. Skin crawling happens first so I stick to brutally honest.
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
Uniquesara · 41-45, F
Honest is the best policy
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@Uniquesara because the other party can't handle it?
Uniquesara · 41-45, F
@Moneyonmymind i can not stand to breakamyones heart
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@Uniquesara it’s part of life sometimes though
Prettybratbi1tch · 26-30, F
Both Depends on who I'm dealing with
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@Prettybratbi1tch i dont feel good when sugarcoating things
Prettybratbi1tch · 26-30, F
@Moneyonmymind i need to stop tbh I think it does more harm than good
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@Prettybratbi1tch unless kids are involved yeah
Aysel · F
Honest in a delicate manner, never hostile in its delivery.
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@Aysel I feel it
black4white · 56-60, M
i dont sugar coat but i bring the truth in a softer manner.... and not brutally honest unless its called for ..there is a time and place for both... the knowledge is knowing when its good and when its bad
SW-User
Nah. I don’t like to hurt people’s feelings. There is often a way to make the truth sound less painful
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@SW-User 😏
Shadyglow · F
a woman on here once told me that ( I am brutally honest) but the real truth was she was HONESTLY BRUTAL...and then proceeded to steal almost a thousand bucks of mine. I remember her name. She would recognize this post too. End of story. I cant call her out or the boss would ban me. I could use that money though.
Shadyglow · F
@Moneyonmymind actually I tried to call her out here long ago and was savagely censured and "warned"

always the bad guy even when I was the ******

Thats our "moral" world for ya. Cowardice rulez and not much else.
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@Shadyglow situations like yours are exactly why I’m not likely to quickly trust people they need to earn it
Shadyglow · F
@Moneyonmymind No I didn't earn her trust I was lonely instead and went to visit her and 2 days later I was out about 850 and swamped with lying promises about how trusting I should be about getting paid back.
lol
I would sugar coat things..
but you’d prolly eat that too 🤓
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
CassandraSissy · 26-30, T
Bit of both, sweetie. Depends on who I am talking to. Matt'll sometimes say something to me that doesn't hit the mark as he thought it'd do and I'd sigh and tell him 'Well, that's 2 minutes of my life wasted that I'll never get back, sweetie...'

He's used to me now....

But, yes, constructive criticism - using some positives to make a sandwich - is what I am generally known for.

😘
exchrist · 31-35
Bruttally honest.
exchrist · 31-35
@exchrist though im tactful i dont disguise the truth.
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@exchrist it should be like that more often
exchrist · 31-35
@Moneyonmymind yes thank u im getting better at it since my brain tumor was finally removed. I even apolofized to an ex id wronged and told that person how to fix it themself. I got home after surgery yesterday.
TexChik · F
It depends on who i am talking to. My family and friends get sugar . Vendors and clients get brutal honesty.
TexChik · F
@Moneyonmymind Because they work for me, if they are not keeping me happy I tell them about it
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@TexChik oooo tight fisted
TexChik · F
@Moneyonmymind I am always looking for the best price
I can be brutally honest so I’m told. I just don’t see the need to sugar coat and blatantly lie. I want people to be honest with me too! I can deal with that!
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@NoGamesTolerated i feel this
Beautywithin · 36-40, F
Depends what it is. If it means hurting ones feelings then i do sugarcoat because it not in my nature to upset someone.
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@Beautywithin what if hurting their feelings saved their life?
Beautywithin · 36-40, F
@Moneyonmymind Very good Question, if it was only down to be to be brutally honest in a matter like that, then yes i would.
Fairydust · F
Honest 😌
SW-User
balanced, i'd say. rarely more one than the other, but sometimes a situation calls for kid-gloves or sledgehammer
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@SW-User especially these days
SW-User
Adogslife · 61-69, M
I tend to give a more sugar coated outlook to women. Men, I generally hit them right between the eyes with the reality.
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@Adogslife hehe right between the eyes
It depends. I try to be tactful, if it’s at all possible. If someone’s not getting it, I can definitely be candid. I am truthful, but I’d rather not cause hurt feelings.
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@bijouxbroussard fair enough
Missbirdie1986 · 36-40, F
I’m honest to the point I try not to say anything but then again I do sometimes
SW-User
I'm pretty direct
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@SW-User that’s good!
Raaii · 22-25, F

Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@Raaii that’s good!

Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
pancakeslam · 41-45, M

I have been told that I am so blunt that Snoop Dogg is able to roll his weed in it.
