if you couldnt hide behind a fake name and display pic and actually had to reveal yourself
to be able to write what you wanted online. Would you?
I dont think many would. I think most wouldnt say what they say here if they were not anonymous and could not hide who they were. I think this site and other social sites would be vastly different if that was the case..
And to those who are not anonymous and say whatever they like. Respect to you
@Torsten because I feel that they could be transient. I feel no need to identify strongly with anything or any side when I believe I don't really have the full picture of anything. So I let things pass and I keep mindful of my changing self.
@SW-User That is sad! Why you are such a being of hope. You are your words. Wise. Caring. Empathetic. A human too.

@PoetryNEmotion That is down to my insecurities, not sharing all that I hold within. I feel that it would not be received. But...but, I am trying to overcome that and be more open.❤️
It's a bit more complicated than that. With cancel culture and employers being able to search for your name etc, I think it's wise for everyone to not openly express themselves without being anonymous. It's sad that it has to be that way, but it is what it is.
@TheGreatLeveler what kind of dark stuff you say online if you think it would affect your business, employment or personal life? im just curious is all haha
I do not behave any differently here than in person. I don't engage in perversion or disgusting behavior. As for the anonymity, my work requires that I not have a social media footprint, and given the interactions I have had on here and EP with lunatics...I am glad I am anonymous here.
As for my photo, I naively used my photo for my PFP when I started with EP. I received it back from 3 different male members who had printed it, shot their load on it, photographed it and sent it back to me. That was little creepy, So this Texas girl will remain hidden behind the Texas girl. It's the unhinged immature perverted behavior of the men here that inspires most female members to not hang their face out for public view.
@TexChik awesome reply my friend! Me, on the other hand have put my mug up for the world to see. I guess I'm not too smart, lol. Yes, I understand, it's much different for women because of the pervs. My female friends are true Ladies and that's how I like them. I always try to conduct myself properly and not cross the line. Who you see in me here is who you would see anywhere. Keep smiling and have a great day!
@gol979 People tend to do what they are told. Sheep. It is unfortunate. Cable services should be free. Yet we pay to access information. All this technology? Should be free. Yet the companies and the people who manage them rake in the money. Have a good day.

No. I come here for that exact reason, for the anonymity and privacy. Although I don’t post anything controversial, just my random thoughts and I’m fine with it.
I would expose every single person who wanted to cause harm to many of the good guys, especially one of them is written for him to be my fiancé, everything the evil people wanted to do, I am not afraid of nobody, they have to be afraid of the truth.
@Torsten My parents were arguing and named me after the next street they came too. I have never liked it. And I don't take selfies cause I'm afraid I might see someone behind me that shouldn't be there... So I've gone with Thevy cause that's were I used to live. 29 cause that was my age at the time. And Po because his awesome. And I love the look on his face.
I write on a few sites. One has my photos. I want to be read based upon my words. My appearance is lovely. I do not care about looks. People seem to think it matters.
Sometimes you can't reveal all about yourself. Say for instance I said I was a policewoman? I would get a hard time on here and either leave or return as a new user.
I got hundreds of creepy PMs or friend requests just by putting an "F" next to my name. I could imagine what woyuld happen if I posted my pic. No thank ya.
Isn't that the whole point of using a site like this that allows for anonymity?
My question to you is whether someone seeking to speak from anonymity is reflective of personal issues they have or societal issues? In my view, that kind of depends on the subject.
Speaking, for example, of being an atheist or a conservative in a liberal area or a liberal in a conservative area are all things that could have repercussions to how people treat you in real life.
I might be biased by nostalgia, but I think the internet was largely a better place when anonymity was the norm and real name social media like Facebook was not commonplace.
If this place had no anonymity, I'd have no reason to be here. I'd probably still just be on Facebook.
@ViciDraco You are the words you speak online. If you are fake or malicious, you are those. No anonymity is ridiculous. Just as is complete fantasy. If you are not your words, you are certainly worthless. Worth less too.
@SW-User im talking bout if it was mandatory for everyone online. No more scammers cause they cant hide who they are. No more catfish. that sucks that happened to you
But I live in a small place , you can't go anywhere without someone who's cousins husband's, sister's best friend's hairdresser knows your last bosses exes workmates brother in law .....it's a nightmare🙄
