That's how I felt about my mother.

It was a long 18 years.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@cuppatea awe..🤗

Domking · 61-69, M Best Comment
Yes, at times, I do. Usually I try not to judge or stereotype, give some time but at times there are strong signs or vibes.
Sometimes just instinct or sixth sense decides.
But
There are signs that tell you about the beliefs, attitude or even socio-politic leaning of the person.
Dress is one sign, body language and mannerisms & other visible signs or things that can he sensed.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Domking very true..
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@SageWanderer love it! 😂😂😂
Havesomefun2 · 56-60, M
@SageWanderer no it’s a hair dryer less conspicuous
Primnproper · 56-60, F
I call that..98% of people xD
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@MrBlueGuy 😂😂
seaglass · F
Yeah. Sometimes you can sense someone's awfulness before they can display it
OliRos · 22-25, F
What do you mean, "ever"?
OliRos · 22-25, F
@Primnproper 😂😂 It's not them, I am sure, it's me!
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@OliRos shush!🤫 hopefully no one heard you admit that! 😁
OliRos · 22-25, F
@Primnproper 🤐🤐🤐
blackarcher256 · 61-69, M
Absolutely….Call it a gut feeling or intuition, but that instant dislike has proven warranted.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@blackarcher256 I think we generally have good intuition.
blackarcher256 · 61-69, M
@Primnproper I agree
Yes some people have negative vibes, I pick up on that
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@FreeSpirit1 I agree..
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@BizSuitStacy oh wow! I hope he was left with a stinging cheek from your mum or a drink in the face. Lol
@Primnproper Sadly no.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@BizSuitStacy shame. Lol
Adrift · 61-69, F
Yes, and usually I was right about the vibe I picked up from them.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Adrift 👍
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@mindstruggle not a good meet then.
@Primnproper
It’s more like they were the one who dislike me.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@mindstruggle well it’s their loss then! 🙃
Heartlander · 80-89, M
Yes, but there were reasons :)

A parent of our kid’s classmate who obnoxiously tried to be one of the teens, demanding the kid’s attention like he was one of them. A 45 year old man behaving like a 13 year old teen girl while ignoring all the adults, including his spouse, triggered a dislike reflex within minutes of the first meeting. Strange.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Heartlander sounds warrented..
SW-User
there is always a reason
acupaday · 46-50, F
Very rarely. There’s “…really?” moments with some when first being exposed to them, but dislike tends to come later on when I’ve experienced more of the person they choose to present.
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
Yup. I read people very well and can tell whether or not I like someone pretty instantly.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@thepreposterouspanda a good knack to have..👍
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
@Primnproper I was a pastor's kid growing up and met a lot of people moving around, all of whom had the happy face on. It became pretty easy to see through it early on. :)
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@thepreposterouspanda ahh. Gotcha!👍
SW-User
Yes many times. Most of them were friends of my brothers
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@SW-User didn’t hang with a good crowd?
SW-User
@Primnproper They made poor choices in people 😊
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@SW-User it happens..
TurtlePink · 22-25, F
Not that I didn’t like but wasn’t gonna be interested in following up with them afterwards
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@TurtlePink I know what you mean..
Lilymoon · F
Yeah .. a lot unfortunately. My vibes never lie. 😬
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Lilymoon I think most of us have good intuition if we only listened to it.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Bexsy many?
@Primnproper no, not many. Couple though was instantly and even made hair on back my neck stand up
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Bexsy yeah that’s nasty, steer clear of those.. lol
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
No, there's always some reason.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@ArtieKat could they tell?
ArtieKat · M
@Primnproper I can't remember the circumstances - probably but not definitely. I've encountered some very thick-skinned egomaniacs in my time! 🤣
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@ArtieKat that can’t have been fun. Lol
HeavenBesideYou · 56-60, F
Yes, but there’s a reason. They put off bad energy.
4meAndyou · F
Not really. I am mentally wired to like almost everyone instantly when I meet them. But I can think of two women I met...one here at my apartment building who was scowling at me with disapproval because I posted a sign in the wrong place, and another woman in my church who made it very plain with her facial expressions that she disliked me.
SW-User
It's a failing of mine...

Liking someone instantly is a far rarer occurrence.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@SW-User i beg your pardon then.😊
SW-User
@Primnproper

I'm annoying you - I can tell.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@SW-User nope, no one here annoys me because if it remotely gets close to that i switch off..lol
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
Yes. Not very often, but it’s happened a couple of times and it’s just like I get a feel for their energy and it’s like a dark energy that really kind of eats through me if you will
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Jenny1234 i know exactly what you mean..
Magenta · F
Indeed. Sometimes we can sense the underlying person behind the front. Maybe it's more of being annoyed or irritated versus dislike. I think this can happen with introverts and extroverts. Also, if someone comes across as ultra sweet and nice, yikes, feels so pretentiousness.
MartinII · 70-79, M
Not without reason, no. Of course, the reason may sometimes turn out to be invalid on closer acquaintance.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@MartinII fair comment.👍
HumanEarth · F
Yes, yes I have.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@HumanEarth that doesn't surprise me..lol
HumanEarth · F
You can just smell the "I'm Fake Vote For Me"
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@HumanEarth Thats right!👍
Houdini · 56-60, M
Yes that happens a lot. But I do think I’m a good judge of character.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
Oh definitely.

Although I do have reasons.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Fluffybull did they know?
Fluffybull · F
@Primnproper I don't think so. Even if they did, I don't think they'd have cared.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Fluffybull good for you though.
Without reason? NO
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@LifeIsShort fair enough
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@AbbySvenz bad experience?
AbbySvenz · F
Orangehotrod · 61-69, M
Absolutely!
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Orangehotrod agreed..👍
BLP11520 · 61-69, M
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@BLP11520 👍 many of us have.
lipstickguy · 61-69, M
all the time
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@lipstickguy lol..😁
no i don't judge, if I end up not liking someone it's based on something they had done not just by made up scenarios I have about them in my head
bowman81 · M
Sure....usually if you take the time to analyze it, there is something in the attitude and bearing that reminds you of others who have jerked you around in one way or another.
Pinkstarburst · 51-55, F
No. There will always be a reason.
Havesomefun2 · 56-60, M
Most certainly
TexChik · F
Of course.
Goodluckwiththat · 61-69, M
Oh yeah!!
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
It's usually because something about them reminds me of another bad person I knew. There are certain types of blue eyes that when i see them on a man, I instantly associate with cruelty. And someone who is overly polite, makes me instantly think they are dishonest. I try to fight against those impulses, but I can't deny they exist.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@ViciDraco oh thats me doomed then, ive got green eyes so im safe there, but i can be overly polite but now i know I'll just insult you now and then and we should be fine! 😁
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
@Primnproper Haha. To be fair, I haven't experienced it with a woman. I've just known two men in my life, an uncle and someone we thought was a family friend. Never missed their pleases or thank yous. Everyone was ma'am or sir.

My cousins were in a serious accident, that uncle burned through their insurance checks at a casino and ended up cheating on my aunt, and it turned out that had been going on for years and years.

The family friend wound up stealing from us to pay for drugs. Took a while to catch on as it was stuff we didn't use a lot at first. Went to rehab and thinking he was straightened out we invited him over again. He wound up sneaking back in late at night and stole gaming consoles and my car keys. Woke up to my car back in the driveway but the front end all busted up and tires down to the rims. 7k in damages. Called the police that time and never saw him again.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@ViciDraco It's always so much worse when its family isn't it..soul destroying..
SW-User
I agree with CrazyM. 🙌

@Adogslife 😂😂 that made me laugh..
Pretzel · 70-79, M
Yeah and it was like they had a stink on them.
No, there was a reason. I’ve encountered people in MAGA hats, with Confederate flags or swastika patches and with a feeling of deep distrust, I made myself scarce. And while it was true I didn’t know them, they showed me a clear reason not to want to.

I have, I just get a feeling that there’s something not right. I don’t usually judge but when I get that feeling I can’t ignore it.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@iamonfire696 yeah i know that feeling well..👍
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
I find it hard to believe you can not like someone without reason
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Moneyonmymind believe it or not sometimes you can get a sense to it..ive had alot of dealings with alcoholics, abusers and generally i can pick out certain traits without even knowing them just by observing..it can be that gut feeling too.
