I despise the word ''Normal''.

What's normal anyway!?
Is it normal that your ''Normal'' is not normal to me?

Rob Paravonian had some interesting words on the subject.

If your normal is not the normal for your group, one is closer to it than the other. Figure out which.

I don't mind it as long as it's in reference to probability distribution functions!

normal is like average typical stuff

Stop talking crazy and be normal.
I've met a few people who seemed amazingly "normal" to me but that's only from my limited perspective. 🤷🏾

I wouldn't say it's ever bothered me enough to despise it though. But I get it.

Well, I don't despise the word itself.. I just don't like when used as response or an argument.

Normal isn't just a description of behavior.

Normal just means "the norm," i.e., what's average or common. People apply value judgments on the word that really aren't there in the definition.

Yeah I know that.. it's the use of the word as an argument or a valid reason to do something..
that's what I don't like 😅.

It is a troublesome word that assumes a lot. Abnormal is usually more useful because it means an abberation or change for generally rutene or healthy behaviour.

All of us have had to be abnormal to get through abnormal situations. Normal works more often though when life is rutene.
