Different language?

Being non-native English speaking person makes it more challenging to communicate with those that are. As long as we keep our replies and posts on a simple level, without much depth it's easier. However, if we want to involve ourselves in more depth on an issue it becomes more of a struggle as we're not familiar with all the facets and nuances of the English language and we might pick strange wordings out of lack of awareness thereof. I'm not saying that goes for every post or reply you'll find on the boards and in some cases the native English speaking people might even make more nonsense than we do. Lol

I see that all the time. There are so many people here from so many different countries and their English is broken.. but at least they make an effort to communicate so I try to understand as best I can

It is not just you, so much of communication is non verbal and that does not show up in text. So easy for one person to receive a different message than you meant to send and you receive a different one than intended. Takes much more communication to get through.

It's not just you. There are some here English is not their native language but doing the best they can. They are easy to spot.
The ones that get all of us not only speak English and do it poorly but also speak in broken thoughts that make no sense. They are clueless how they sound to the rest of us. Most ignore those posts because they don't want to be rude and tell them they are completely not understandable.

I think it often is a generational thing. I tend to be the same. Or dependent on what one experiences.

Sometimes they use voice to type or text and it doesn't always come out correctly and they don't proofread it and it's screwed up. I see that lotta times.

Please keep in mind not everyone is a native speaker of English.
If you had to express your thoughts in East Slobovonian, native East Slobovonians might complain about your poor language skills.

English may not be their first language. Google translate is also very limited.

I'm pretty well convinced that some people are either just spewing words and not attempting to make anything remotely understandable or they're so far of the plumb line that that actually fully understanding them isn't actually an option.
