I got a text from some random number who knows my name and saying they wanted to check on me after hearing my mom's been in ICU for a week 🤨

Strange considering I spoke to my mom in person just a few hours ago and she hasn't been to the hospital in a long time. I'm pretty sure she's never even been treated in the ICU before, lol. Normally, I'd brush this off as some rando with too much time on their hands, but it's really weird that they knew my name. Their number is from a local area code, even. I don't get out much, so there aren't a whole lot of people who even have my number. None I've given it out to, anyway. I sure would've remembered. My first thought was that it might be one of my sister's friends, since she's a lot more outgoing and popular than I am. But if so, why would they reach out to me and not her first? I told my sister about it and she said she hasn't gotten any texts like that at all and she doesn't recognize the phone number. Then just who in the hell texted me that?! 😂

It's somewhat tempting to inquire who it is, but I'm just going to ignore it. For all I know, it's one of those spam numbers that come from all around in my country (and out of it, lol), who got my number from shag knows where, and they just so happen to have a local area code. Them mentioning something serious and urgent like my mom supposedly being in ICU for the past week is a little sus. 🤔
