Does the response to my message sound rude? I messaged this person on Thu and this is the response I get?

It was a simple query that will hardly take 5 words or so to type and respond.

Doesn't seem rude to me, but obviously he/she is having a bad hair day.

@Ontheroad Ok - but does she need 2 days to respond to a simple query? Honestly it takes just 4-5 words to type? Sounds like she was irritated with my message? Or did not want to give the info?
Ontheroad · M
@solitaire it does sound as if she was irritated at someone/something. I'd probably try to discover the back story on whatever process this is, and see if she has had some issues with it.

You are right though, a couple of days for a simple response is pushing it.

@Ontheroad She did get an NOC letter for the purpose of travel. There's no way of discovering the backstory unless it comes from her.

Note the time of her message
10 pm. Honestly nobody wants to talk about work that late. Lol

@Nunki Trust me this is a simple query that just takes 5 words and when she has messaged me in the past I have replied even if it was late.

@solitaire You know better about the situation, but personally I wouldn't read too much into it
Ontheroad · M
@solitaire Since I don't know what an "NOC:" letter is and don't know if it would unduly inconvenience a person, I can't really hazard a guess. She was annoyed, but still, if a simple reply is all that was needed, she could have sent the reply instead of a narky response.

@Ontheroad NOC refers to "No objection certificate" - for travel purpose. It is a formal letter from your workplace visa purpose.
Ontheroad · M
@solitaire okay, so there was no need for the snark.
solitaire · 41-45, F
@Ontheroad Yep. In future would you bother asking such a person anything?
Ontheroad · M
@solitaire probably... unless it was absolutely necessary, I wouldn't bother with them.
solitaire · 41-45, F
Thanks for recognising it as a snarky reply because even I felt that way.
Morvoren · F
@solitaire They say d they are having some problems. Hence the delay.

Did you ask if you could help with the problems?
solitaire · 41-45, F
@Morvoren I did not ask her. She does not share much personal stuff at work (except what she wants to). Another reason I did not ask her is cos she most probably won't share and there would the possibility of me being at the receiving end again
Morvoren · F
@solitaire Well that’s why the letter is delayed.

Perhaps she’s on another site telling people how she told you she’s having problems and you showed no interest. 🤭
solitaire · 41-45, F
@MorvorenYou did not understand. She got a no objection certificate from office and I wanted to know the process about how to procure such a letter
