Can anyone explain this to me?…

I can understand to show trailing off after a hmm. Or even the “well hell.” But what about after the “I copied you on an email”? What does it mean?!
Why is it in every message?
Benjago · 41-45, M
This is a person that is feeling emptiness. It pairs well with an excessive use of the ellipsis. The constant feeling of wishing there was more. The hurt this person is going through...it has to make you wonder what additional thought was never made into words. So much they must have wanted to say about that email. I hope their life will find the meaning they so desperately seek.

@Benjago I started reading this and then had to stop one sentence in because I started laughing and there were people around me
Iwillwait · M
@Benjago Hmm... Yep!

@thepreposterouspanda

you illustrated it perfectly ......🤣
Iwillwait · M
@thepreposterouspanda Why does this look like 1980's unpaid for cable TV!?
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
... in my dorky cryptic texting language means I'm thinking and more text is to come, trying to convey drag out kind of energy to my reaponse or convey that I’m hesitant.

Not sure if it means the same for others though.

Longpatrol · 31-35, M
It's basically to denote that she's thinking about the reply
itsok · 31-35, F
@Longpatrol what/whose reply?
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
@itsok her reply to you
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@itsok Yes it's like Hmmm (I'm thinking), then the response

LilPrincess · 41-45, F
My oldest daughter does it and no clue why. Now i find myself doing it😒
itsok · 31-35, F
@LilPrincess stop yourself before it’s too late…
LilPrincess · 41-45, F
@itsok I have been trying...but I think I might be to far gone 😂
Degbeme · 70-79, M
I wish I had an answer for you, but it does sound suspicious. 🤔
OnePatheticClown · 51-55, M
Could be a writing vice...I have that too...🤔
itsok · 31-35, F
In that message it makes no sense indeed... 🤨
itsok · 31-35, F
@NerdyPotato I agree…
My sister does it always to show going to next thought. It to let me know she's thinking. Like i can see she stopped typing or that she typed"..." so I'd know
@itsok this person doesn't know how to elaborate. So she copied you to an email and? I guess she thinks that's all information you're getting. and. Not very professional. Hope this isn't a business
itsok · 31-35, F
@Bexsy she OWNS the business 😵
and the email was a mistake. She never should’ve emailed the customer. What she told her was wrong, and told the customer they made a mistake. When that wasn’t the case. There is a problem with our system. It wasn’t hard for me to check that.

I just went ahead and called the customer and fixed it with them. But why not check what you’re saying? If it happened to me I would’ve been frustrated that bringing up a concern was blamed on me, and not order from that company any more.

Sorry… I’m just frustrated… 😏
@itsok oh wow. You should be frustrated. Sounds like the owner has zero clue and just needs to step away and let those who know what they're doing, do their job.
fvckit · 41-45, M
I do it too… I don’t know why
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
My dad does that a lot too. 🤔
LoveandSex · F
It's like a pause in the conversation.I like to do that a lot in my messages too...
itsok · 31-35, F
@LoveandSex if you end with a period does that mean it’s end of discussion?
LoveandSex · F
@itsok Not exactly.It's the other person who decides it.But with ... it's like the speaker is leaving a pause.That's it.
itsok · 31-35, F
@LoveandSex I don’t think I understand, but thank you for explaining your feelings on it
chillout17 · M
@itsok better be glad you… cause it’s disrespectful not to… I like to think it’s both…a super supper chat group…
itsok · 31-35, F
chillout17 · M
@itsok 😏… …
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
He may be meaning that there is a pause in his response?
itsok · 31-35, F
@JimboSaturn with the email message?
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@itsok Maybe he is trying to simulate a spoken convo? lol
itsok · 31-35, F
@JimboSaturn 😬 …
Gringo · 46-50, M
I do that a good bit. But yeah, the email one seems weird.
CestManan · 46-50, F

CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
It's a habit.
itsok · 31-35, F
@CrazyMusicLover but why did it start?…
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@itsok I don't understand why at the end of the sentence. I use it as a pause or when I feel like I didn't finish the first thought and switched to another.
Iwillwait · M
They like ellipse's...
SkeetSkeet · 100+, F
She is an old man from SW,,,,
I do it alot... probably as text speechbis like conversation to me and that there is a pause
itsok · 31-35, F
@InOtterWords like a comma? Or more? What about at the end of a sentence?
@itsok probably - if i am saying something and leaving something unsaid

@ImpeccablyImperfect do you do it when you’re pausing for effect, or are you adding it to the end of sentences that don’t need trailing off?
