Facebook has reached a new low

Apparently now when you scroll and find something interesting, the moment you stop scrolling and want to read it/click on it... *bang!* it's gone.

when you scroll and find something interestin
Oh sweet summer child, that alone was already taken away to us circa in 2015 lol

@Elessar It actually might have been always happening but I have such strong filter for this content that I ignore it with the same nonchalance I do with spanking posts on here. 😆

Just right now I scroll through feed and it's all totally away from my interest. One article about the funeral of a pyramid scheme scammer from 90s and another about some hockey player. It's just unimportant noise to me and Facebook still didn't figure it out. It's shooting into darkness.

*Haha, okay, just the minute I click back on FB the article about the hockey player disappeared. It's learning fast.. 👀

@CrazyMusicLover They probably laid off some key frontend engineer and somehow the replacement resurrected a 6 years old bug, it wouldn't even bee to surprising or unrealistic lol
I thought the new low was feeding your content to AI to make it learn. And though you can technically object, that involves telling the team how it impacts you negatively, despite them not telling you how it will be used. That's already pretty much impossible, and even then they will decide if your reasons are valid enough to omit your data from the program. If they don't find your reasons compelling enough, they will continue using your posts and comments and there's nothing you can do about it.

@NerdyPotato Oh that's entirely new level of low.
@CrazyMusicLover yep, I thought automatically opting people in was low. But making it almost impossible to object and still retaining the right to ignore it, that's just forcing everyone in. And retroactively too. People couldn't even dream of AI when they posted most stuff. And somehow I doubt deleting it will stop it from being used, even if that were an option.
