The site just like this and all social media websites are under the influence of societies values.
If a website does not comply to the majority of the prevailing opinion. They can not withstand the social pressure.
This is happening even this very moment on this website. It's why reorganization is even happening.

Before they shut down EP posted a message on the homepage. The message said that the powers that be wanted access to all private massages and they wanted to monitor all future messages they also threatened legal action if EP did not comply. So to protect the privacy of the EP members EP figured they had no choice but to shut down. I was sad to see that but I salute them for doing it. Cheers!

@Confined A very sensible approach with where they were. I wasn't there but it fits and the only response they could respond with.

A member (someone I was actually friends with) met with another member (she didnt know him) in a secluded area. He kidnapped her, tied her up , and cut her throat. The FBI wanted the info on all members on the site and the owners of EP refused. Ultimately I think they decided to close the site rather than submit to the government's request. At least that is what I was told and what I read about .

@TexChik I’ve just started looking into this.. what was the victims username? I read somewhere that they liked talking about Twilight and I vaguely remember people on EP talking about Twilight. It’s really unsettled me that at any given point I could have spoken to either one of them

@SkeetSkeet I don’t know but I saw my dog eat a frozen turd once when I was pregnant and did that make me puke 🤢. I just don’t get it at all.
