I did actually do something useful today. A couple of years ago I found a jar stuffed with obsolete paper notes while tidying up at home. It must have been lying there since before my wife died.
Been meaning to take them to the bank ever since and was wondering if they would take them. At last today I had nothing better to do and also remembered them. Quite an anticlimax the cashier at Santander simply said that of course I could pay them in to my account. It took him quite a while to count them and check them with a marker pen
So now I'm 465 GBP better off. The cashier at the bank said it was a decent chunk of money but it's not even enough for my stay in Nottingham!

I hate cars. I went out to my car to take a few things out so there would be less to do in the morning. Did a bit of tidying up, closed the hatch, and went back up to my room. About ten minutes later the Tesla app notified me that the boot was open which was a surprise. So I went out to look and it was definitely closed. But it won't open. I even tried the emergency release cable from inside, no luck.
So I drove to the Tesla Service centre, only 5 km away. And asked if they could do anything. None of the mechanics had time and they said it's probably a cable that they don't keep in stock anyway.
I've added it to the service that is already scheduled for Friday in Nottingham. I just hope they can fit it in.
It's a bloody nuisance. Because the car thinks the tailgate is open it won't allow cruise control to engage. After over seven years of driving in partnership with autosteer it definitely feels like a step backwards to have to pay such close attention to trivia like obeying speed limits and staying in lane!

Been having a less active day today, no long walks. But I have walked around the town centre several times looking for a place that sells safety pins. Finally found some in Poundland after trying all the other likely places.
Today's outfit a distressed denim miniskirt, a short silver and black sleeveless top
I also bought a dress at 1.50 GBP I couldn't resist.

@ninalanyon Good price for a new dress

@turbineman40 I tried it on over my clothes so it seems a fairly close fit but at less than half the price of a cup of coffee it's worth it. With nothing under it except undies it should fit.

Seen on my walk. The main shopping street is Sheep Street and the bollards at the Market Square end have sheep's heads.
There is always a sculpture of a small flock of sheep but I've mislaid the photo.
There are lots of barbers here. None of them seem very busy. This one is trying to make sure they appeal to everyone

Good day for a walk?
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@turbineman40 It is but I'm taking it easy today. Only 3 500 steps so far today. The average over the last few weeks has been nearly 10 000 per day.

@ninalanyon 10.000 steps is a lot of walking. How well I know from the days of being a turbine mechanic
