I hate cars. I went out to my car to take a few things out so there would be less to do in the morning. Did a bit of tidying up, closed the hatch, and went back up to my room. About ten minutes later the Tesla app notified me that the boot was open which was a surprise. So I went out to look and it was definitely closed. But it won't open. I even tried the emergency release cable from inside, no luck.
So I drove to the Tesla Service centre, only 5 km away. And asked if they could do anything. None of the mechanics had time and they said it's probably a cable that they don't keep in stock anyway.
I've added it to the service that is already scheduled for Friday in Nottingham. I just hope they can fit it in.
It's a bloody nuisance. Because the car thinks the tailgate is open it won't allow cruise control to engage. After over seven years of driving in partnership with autosteer it definitely feels like a step backwards to have to pay such close attention to trivia like obeying speed limits and staying in lane!
