How long has it been since Twitter became X and people and media STILL have to clarify that when they reference X they're talking about Twitter?

LMAO Elon is geneus🤪
SW-User
Paying $44 billion for twitter was not the mark of a genius

@Pikachu @SW-User let's not forget he wasn't being serious with his offer. But the repercussions of his words basically forced him to follow through. One of the very few times he's had consequences for running his mouth.

It's also kind of ironic that it's kind of falling apart because he doesn't really care about it all that much, but at the same time he can't let go of it because it is a platform for satisfying his ego.
@ViciDraco

lol he definitely was buying his own hype. I remember when Musk was viewed as a real life Tony Stark instead of an out of touch, conspiracy-minded joke.

@Pikachu yeah, once upon a time I even wanted a Tesla. I thought he was doing good things, but was deeply flawed and showing signs of narcissism. But I really changed my view on him following his complete disregard for worker safety during the pandemic. I think that was the breaking point for a lot of people though.

I also think that success put him around a lot of other toxic wealthy people and his pathological need for praise and validation was taken advantage of by that new group. He's supposedly made a lot of decisions surrounding who gets banned or unbanned on Twitter based on opinions from his "friends". Advice of "friends" is how he ended up firing that guy who had a trigger contract for a huge payout he had to try to walk back.
Whyyyyy is it still up is my Q and the domain name is still twitter.com! Elmos a rich clown
@TryingtoLava
lol because X is a stupid name and people are still googling Twitter.

If I see the letter "x" by itself (not as part of a word) I assume either it means 'times' (multiplication) or it is a variable (which needs to be defined). Both of those things, of course, make no sense in the context of an article, title, and/or in speech therefore they have to say it means TWITter.
@thisguy20

lol exactly. He made took one of THE most recognizable brands around and turned it so generic that people keep forgetting what X means without context. 😆

He is a centrist. The left went over the cliff and two valleys over.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@MasterLee he went right when he learned the right wing is more inclined to cult-like worship. The man is addicted to praise and hero worship and the left was no longer giving it when he started personally attacking people that upstaged him and it got out how toxic his work environment is.

@ViciDraco oh I see

It's kind of funny. He panders to the far right who are well known to not like change and thus likely to use the old name. And the left are going to use the old name just to spite him. And centrists are just going to use the old name because X says like someone let a preteen edgelord pick a name.
