Likewise.

The Superbowl is a great reminder that the NFL is a business and the competitors are really the sponsors who invest millions in developing and presenting commercials. And with a televised half-time performance apparently intended to lure younger views to tune in to watch the commercials, and who would likely otherwise be doing something else than watching :)

The extended half-time performances depart from the traditional talking-heads routines to present big shows that have nothing to do with the game itself beyond extend the traditional "rest and adjust" time between the two halves.

I think I shall pass this year for the first time ovwr 40 years. Haven't been watching it as much and yes, there is a bit of anti Trump / USA going on.
AstroZombie · 36-40, M
I'll be at a local Renaissance Fair that day lol.
AstroZombie · 36-40, M
@JimboSaturn It's always been plenty of fun every time I've gone.
@AstroZombie Now that sounds like fun. 👍🏽
AstroZombie · 36-40, M
@bijouxbroussard Had a blast last year. And back in...I wanna say 2024. It was either 2023 or 2024.
Iffy. My wife & I will be traveling that Sunday; we may or may not be able to see it.
:) I'm far more interested in the upcoming LSU-Texas ladies basketball game than the super Bowl. At Texas. Thursday night.
Carla · 61-69, F
I am a fan.
Me
I don't like sports
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
I don't watch sports anymore really. It would feel disingenuine to watch the superbowl when I haven't watched a single game all year.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
We might or might not watch it. I used to look forward to it, but now the rules have changed so much, the commercials are so long, everything so over-hyped it's like the game itself doesn't even matter any more.
Wizardry · 46-50, M
Likewise don’t like NFL anymore because Taylor Swift and not the same anymore. When I was a kid
alongalone · M
I would find a way to watch if Bengals were there, otherwize not missing anything
yugimotodm · 26-30, M
I always watch the Super Bowl! Do you watch boxing?
yugimotodm · 26-30, M
@XxLaYanderexX nice! Did you watch that guy get his toupee knocked off 😆
yugimotodm · 26-30, M
@XxLaYanderexX it was pretty funny
lissah · 36-40, F
I'm watching it. Except the half time show. Go Patriots!

@TexChik and the reason im picking the Patriots is because of Hunter Henry. He played for the Razorbacks and is a TE for the Patriots.
Anniedlr · 31-35, F
Most of the World 😂
SpectralMourning · 41-45, M
Not really interested. I'll still eat some buffalo chicken dip though.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@SpectralMourning I like the eating part.
exexec · 70-79, C
Not me. I watch college football, not the NFL.
@exexec

Likewise.

What interest I have in the NFL is a carry over from the college teams I followed.
exexec · 70-79, C
@Heartlander My wife watches our local team, the Texans, but I don't even watch them. When I was a kid, I was a big NFL fan, but inflated salaries, inflated egos, and lack of effort made me lose interest.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@exexec Former Collingwood AFL rookie Mitch McCarthy served as the punter for the 2026 National Champion Indiana Hoosiers, highlighting a major Australian connection to the US college football title win. The Victorian-born punter helped secure an undefeated 16-0 season, with another Aussie, Dylan Joyce, playing for the runner-up Miami Hurricanes. 😷
Me. I don’t have time to waste on sports.
Lugwho · 61-69, M
I've never watched it.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Nope. And we even have an Aussie playing. (He couldnt make the cut in our game, but apparently he is killing them in the American version..😷
BohoBabe · M
I don't follow sports, so nah.
I wasn't , I'm not even in the USA
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
I don't care about foozeball
(Raises hand) I’m not sure what my plans are yet, but they never involve football (or any sports, really).
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
Me, I don’t care for sports but this is over-the-top hyped up and I hate that for sure.
TexChik · F
Doesn't get more combative than a football game.
HowtoDestroyAngels · 46-50, M
I'm not watching this year. I love me some football, but I hate the Patriots and could care less about the Seahawks.
Lots of people don't like football!
EBSVC · 41-45
I only ever watch the halftime show
Cigarguy · 41-45, M
Could care less this year. Ready for baseball season ⚾
Selah ·
I want to see Bad Bunny
CreyvinMoorhead · 36-40, M
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
Nope. Pitchers & Catchers MAY report to Spring Training on Tuesday. Life begins again. 😋
swirlie · 31-35
No, not watching it. Football is a game of strategy but it's too slow for me. I find football as boring as Trump to watch for any length of time.
AmericanAvenger · 56-60, M
You are a broad so no one cares if you think you like football or not
