Ask me if you have a question about football. World Cup or otherwise.

I don't know everything but I am fairly knowledgable about the game and I follow it internationally. I also love talking about it.
Why can they just add time for no reason?
@Burnley123 its okay its kinda boring for me aneway i dont like sports besides baseball

@TryingtoLava Each to their own. 👍

IKR? The game is 90 minutes, and it's usually over in less than two hours, half time included (they add a few minutes for injuries and minot stoppage).

That's primitive and they have not learned modern ways. Our football games are 1 hour, but we manage to stretch them into 4 hours. That's the way to go.

What do you think of the US performance in the first half against Wales?
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@Burnley123 Nice save by Turner.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@windinhishair In the second half, I thought the US team made a big mistake in sitting back and their passing was also poor. Wales are technically limited but showed incredible grit. USA will now have to qualify the hard way.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@Burnley123 The US gave up a golden chance to move on. Still, the last five times the US has won or tied their opening match, they've qualified.

Did Kane take a knee? I just saw the final score 6-2, holy shit.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@JimboSaturn The team took a knee. Kane didn't wear his 'One-love' armband because FIFA told him that they'd punish him with a yellow card if he did. I wish he had still done it but I'm a lot more pissed off with FIFA than Kane.

England did play very very well. Much better than I expected tbh.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@Burnley123 Yes I saw the change in armband in the news this morning.

Who's this Gómez Villaverde for Argentina?
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@OhIsMe I looked on Wijipedia. My knowledge isn't limitless. 😜

What do you think about Anfield and Old Trafford being excluded from the Euros bid?

How old is Frank Casper today, the ex Rotherham player ???
Human1000 · M
Why does Wales have its own team?
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Human1000 The is a Wales independence movement and a Welsh nationalist party but nowhere near the same level as in Scotland. The SNP is the biggest Scottish Party but Plaid Cyrmri has less than a quarter of the Welsh vote.
Human1000 · M
@Burnley123 Ugh, what do you think?
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Human1000 I'm typical of left (and left-leaning) English people. I have sympathy for the desire to break from Tory-run Britain and I support their right to choose but I'd also rather keep the UK together.

@LordShadowfire They bribed FIFA officials, and that's how they won the bid. This is not a political or racial commentary.

FIFA officials later claimed they were not aware how hot it gets in the Arabian Peninsula's desert. Qatar was willing to put up the cash to build 8 major stadiums, within a few miles of each other, to showcase how much progress they made as a nation.

I don't know what they will do with the stadiums after the Mondial is over. The country has less than 350,000 citizens. The 8 stadiums can seat 380,000 people, which means every single Qatari man. woman and child, can have a guaranteed seat, with plenty of seats to spare.

Burning man idea? They have an edge: clean modern bathrooms and shower facilities for everyone.
