Ask me if you have a question about football. World Cup or otherwise.

I don't know everything but I am fairly knowledgable about the game and I follow it internationally. I also love talking about it.

Why does Wales have its own team?

@Human1000 The game originated in the UK and the Celtic nations formed their own associations early on in the game's development. The first internationals were in fact intra-british affairs. Much later, FIFA did one time make a lukewarm attempt to abolish the Welsh and Scottish nations but it was fiercely resisted.

Scotland also has it's own league. Wakes doesn't and it's best teams play in English competitions because they don't have the fanbase for a pro league of their own. It's all been like this for over a hundred years.

@Burnley123 Thanks. We’re used to Scotland seeming more independent, but not so much Wales.

@Human1000 The is a Wales independence movement and a Welsh nationalist party but nowhere near the same level as in Scotland. The SNP is the biggest Scottish Party but Plaid Cyrmri has less than a quarter of the Welsh vote.

@Burnley123 Ugh, what do you think?

@Human1000 I'm typical of left (and left-leaning) English people. I have sympathy for the desire to break from Tory-run Britain and I support their right to choose but I'd also rather keep the UK together.
