Have you ever lit a cigarette on an electric stove?

By the way, if you smoke, stop. It's bad for your health.

No: I've only had one cigarette in my whole life, and then smoked only about half of it.

However, for many, many years our family had a gas-cooker whose lighter was a small flame on the end of a handle supplied by a long, thin hose. It was lit by removing the handle from its holder on the side of the stove, a quarter-turn action that opened its own gas-valve and ignited the gas by a flint-and-wheel.

This was also one of Dad's cigarette lighters.

Oh yeah, back in the day lol
anoderod55 · 70-79, M
No . I agree with you on the thought of it being bad for us . 🤷‍♂
DragonFruit · 70-79, M
Yes, many years ago when I was in grad school.
This was Balkan thing back then when electric stoves were all over the place and no lighter in sight

I’ve lit a joint on one at least twice that I can remember. And I have heated knives for knife hits a long time before I began to only vaporize cannabis.
I hate cigarettes and the people who smoke them…. They smell terrible and they look awfully disgusting too.
DanielsASJ · 36-40, M
I used to do it but it was the only option. Another one was bread toaster.
DanielsASJ · 36-40, M
@JimboSaturn Back then, it was fun but now, I quit smoking for 5 years
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@DanielsASJ i quit about 25 years ago
DanielsASJ · 36-40, M

A machinery mechanic who works for my Dad always lights his imported cigars from Cuba using a hand-held propane torch which has a self-contained sparking button.

First he lights the torch on the workbench which is always a big deal to watch because the torch is always pointing at his face when it flares up at first.

Then he pulls a big fat cigar pre-wrapped in cellophane out of his overalls breast pocket, stick it in his mouth as the cellophane falls to the ground and then attempts to get the torch aimed perfectly at the far end of his cigar, most of which catches on fire at first, but then quickly gets extinguished as he waves it frantically in the air over his head while still holding onto the blow torch in his other hand that's blasting away at full throttle in any random direction at this point.

To see him light a Cuban cigar is like watching the original launching of the Queen Mary every time.

When I was younger, yes and in the toaster. I quit many years ago.

Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
Probably won't work if it's inductive.
GoldnJulz · 46-50, F
@Tastyfrzz Well electric and induction stoves are two entirely different things.
And yes it won’t work with an induction stove. But an electric one will do the job.
Sapio · 51-55, M
Yes, I also hot-knifed hash off of an electric stove but this is when I was in my teens.

JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
I used to do that all the time. I don't know why I didn't have a lighter or matches.
maskedbandit · 61-69, M
You doing it the wrong way. You suppose to hold the cigarette in your hand and roll it across the coil. Don't put your face by it. Yeah and don't smoke. 👍 😬 😅
Years ago. I now realize what crackish behavior that was😶
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@DancingStarGoddess It's true it is a sign you just don't have your shit together lol
@JimboSaturn yesss!
@Degbeme Don't do it Deggy, it's a trap! Looool😂

I’ve been smoke free for 20 years now, but I sure did get creative back in the day - lighting up with a toaster, the stove, even sparking it off bare battery wires. Lord knows I found a hundred other silly little ways, too. 😅
tenente · 36-40, M
Gas stove 🙋‍♂
meggie · F
No only a toaster
