Do you know anyone who was single when you were younger and they are still single?
I know a handful and it sucks coz I know they always wanted to be with someone.

Yes, one of my friends never married. I don't think it was because he didn't want to, he just liked his privacy and independence. He once told me he didn't want to see me "make the same mistakes" he did. Never told me what those mistakes were, I assumed he effed up a relationship. He started having health issue a while back, and had to go into assisted living and passed away not too long ago.

Back in my student days A was one of my girlfriend's closest friends. After my girlfriend and I split up A and I remained in touch. She was in a relationship for several years with a friend of mine but unfortunately that seemed to mess her up. After that none of her relationships lasted for long. She also fell out with several girlfriends over the years. Now several decades later she is still single. We still keep in touch intermittently but it's a friendship based largely on longevity.
