Could Walmart Be Going Down Now?

therighttothink50 · 56-60, M
O'Bidenstein is in the process of destroying everything.....
Big box stores are taking a massive hit with many places closing. Extreme weather has driven up the prices of crops and livestock as supply chain inconsistencies have made other items more expensive to manufacture. It’s projected to become even worse this summer
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
Not a great sign for Walmart. Maybe seeing all the businesses closing in blue cities is their warning sign.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@MrBrownstone I don’t hear that if they say it. They may be low on some things but not everything. Also their. Good Value and Equate brands of items are inferior. You’ll get shorted on items like GV pastas in the boxes. I have weighed several of them after reading a post on another website. The boxes will be an ounce and half less than the weight on the box and that’s not even supposed to include the box weight with it. Their Equate brand of OTC meds have added ingredients that are not healthy. Why do they need to add so many chemicals and things like Titanium Dioxide to them when the name brands don’t do it?
DallasCowboysFan · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti The WM Good Value cookies are terrible. They taste like paper and have the consistency of plywood.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@DallasCowboysFan I bought some canned peas and they tasted mealy compared to the canned peas at Aldi, which taste like garden peas Even their canned peaches don’t compare to Aldi peaches. Nor the fruit cocktail, something off with the GV Brands.
akindheart · 61-69, F
i would rather see Target go first
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@akindheart they seem to be well on their way
every dog has it's day. when I was little 2 Guys were on their way out with K-Mart taking over. then WalMart killed K-mart and now online is making rick and mortar stores obsolete
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@DallasCowboysFan can’t have wheat bread and I don’t eat hot dogs except for bison dogs I buy at the health food store.
DallasCowboysFan · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti I am sorry to hear that.
If you can't get the hot dog combo your life is diminished.
Can you eat Hebrew hot dogs, they are much better than Oscar Mayer.
Why bison dogs, because they are not pork?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@DallasCowboysFan grass fed and no nitrates, MSG, dyes or chemicals in them. They sell them frozen. Have an excellent flavor too but expensive.
Jimmy2016 · 61-69, M
😧................Is it time to Sell?...........$156.87........up from $83.70......on 06/15/2018..........It always dips around this time of year.....
TheunderdogofNY · 36-40, M
If I'm a shareholder I'm very nervous at this revelation.
Applepiedom · 56-60, M
Damn now where I go to see Walmart people? First k mar people then sears people( actually a step up) now walmar whoos me
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Applepiedom Dollar stores etc
Applepiedom · 56-60, M
@cherokeepatti oh yeah I forgot about them. One on every corner.
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
I don't think they are going down but they are up to something. I'd like to know what they are about to invest in.
Fullmetal · 46-50, M
Good riddance! They close 1 hour earlier here now!
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Fullmetal I’m old enough to remember when all the super-centers here stayed open 24/7. Not anymore. They save money by not having to pay the $1 differential on top of the hourly wages to the custodial crews. Not to mention limiting the hours that the shoplifters come in to steal stuff with a skeleton crew in the store.
MyNameIsHurl · 41-45, F
We could only hope, but I highly highly doubt it
Yeah, that's something to keep an eye on.
Musicman · 61-69, M
It really makes you wonder doesn't it. 🤔
Amazon is putting everyone out of business.
@Musicman I understand it too, it just sucks. 😔
@cherokeepatti I know right? They're stealing Dove soap and body wash, but not any of the other brands? I've seen jewelry and electronics locked up before, but not soap, lol.

They also comepletely took out the fine jewelry counter. I guess they were getting robbed. 😔
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@MsSwan they took out the fine jewelry counters here about 2 years ago. My friends sister in law was a jewelry buyer for Walmart. I think they might have had a hard time keeping buyers. Cost over $$10,000 to go to a jewelers school in Las Angeles
As long as there is poverty in the US, Walmart aint going anywhere 🤣
DallasCowboysFan · 61-69, M
@TurtleEclipseOfTheHeart You can buy everything there and get your oil changed while you are waiting.
One stop shopping.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@DallasCowboysFan I don’t trust them to change my oil. A woman I worked with waited and watched them change her oil. They drained about a quart out and added a fresh quart and was going to charge her for the oil change & filter. Didn’t know she had her eyes on them the entire time. They were busy and lined up after she got off of work and that’s what they did.
@cherokeepatti yeah, I don’t either. There’s just some things you don’t buy or use from Walmart. Ol Roy dog food is a big one
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
Could happen for sure. Happened to Woolworth, Sears, Montgomery Wards and Kmart. I'm thinking it could happen to any company.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@nudistsueaz At this point I’d like to have a K-Mart. The nearest one was in the next county but when I had something to do there I would stop by, it was always pleasant shopping
DallasCowboysFan · 61-69, M
They are in their late 70s and 80s. They are probably doing some estate planning.
WM had a record quarter recently.
No Way!!! Walmart will be here way beyond Amazon , unless they are boycotted.

Walmart is doing great aside from the massive shoplifting here and there. The family probably has another project to invest in.
Or they are expecting a stock market crash.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@RocktheHouse Yes I do believe that will happen. They are getting some cash out to live on likely. Probably have stuff stockpiled to the ceiling if truth be known.
I had to go to Wally's last night to get a few things I was running out of, several things were $1.50 higher than even just a month and a half ago.
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
@NativePortlander1970 Have you looked at Amazon and it's Chinese counterparts?
@Nitedoc I take it that you didn't read my reply to @cherokeepatti
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
@NativePortlander1970 I guess I didn't.
