I had to go to Wally's last night to get a few things I was running out of, several things were $1.50 higher than even just a month and a half ago.

@NativePortlander1970 they have to raise prices on items that are shoplifted a lot. So customers end up either making up the difference on the thefts or going elsewhere to buy those items. I have been buying as much as I can from the discount stores to avoid spending near as much as I did before.
@cherokeepatti When I moved into my disability apartment three years ago my monthly supplies cost roughly $80, now the same items, the same list I have been going by every month since then, cost $176 last week.

@NativePortlander1970 would it be less expensive to order them from Amazon?
@cherokeepatti I have an open investigation into my local postal carrier, my last package from Amazon is missing, they put on my order tracking notice that it was put into my mail box, yet nothing was in there, other letters are missing as well. I know when I'm expecting mail because I have informed delivery from the post office that I get in my email, it shows photos of the letters I'm expecting, along with package tracking.

@NativePortlander1970 It may not be your mail carrier. Package and mail thievery is becoming rampant. They just sent a young man to prison from here after catching him steal packages from 17 different homes. That’s what he got caught at, no telling how many else he didn’t get caught for. My neighbor had her package stolen last year and questioned me twice about it, I got offended because I had picked up her packages for her every time she called me, either hid them in her back yard or kept them on my bench in the house for her till she got home.
@cherokeepatti I live in a keyed limited access building, with locked mail boxes, whatever is not able to fit into our boxes are left outside our doors. We're a community of low income retired 62+ and disabled residents that know each other, it's common to see packages still in front of doors for a few days before they're taken in. However it's still good to see a porch pirate get convicted and imprisoned.

@NativePortlander1970 that guy is nuts, I worked with his brother, also nuts…a psychopathic liar. The guy that got convicted lead the police on a long chase that got into the news a few years ago. First thing he tells the police was to brag that he did good driving that fast
@cherokeepatti 🤦‍♀️

@NativePortlander1970 I think he and his brother live in a fantasy in their own minds. The one I worked with was a cart pusher. Every day he would come up with a new outlandish story with him in the center of it. He would tell it to everyone who stopped long enough to listen to him and do it all through his shift and lunch. First time he told me one he said that Walmart wasn’t his “real” job, he had a night job working at the Air Force Base landing planes. 😂 I told him that kind of job pays really well and why he was still working at Walmart. He said he had friends there and liked that job too……..😂…..each story was ludicrous like that.
@cherokeepatti Sounds like my mother.

@NativePortlander1970 I started asking him for details in his stories, like I was interested to know more. He had to stop and think of answers instead of just repeating the same story word for word. I’d ask at least 4 or 5 things. After the third time I did it he stopped coming up to me and telling me the daily story. 😂 I guess I was tripping him up a bit.
@cherokeepatti When they stop talking and start looking upper left, you know right then and there they're lying.

@NativePortlander1970 Have you looked at Amazon and it's Chinese counterparts?
@Nitedoc I take it that you didn't read my reply to @cherokeepatti

@NativePortlander1970 I guess I didn't.
