Yes, rayon is made from bamboo and is very comfortable. I used to have quite a few tops made from rayon back in the 90s. The fabric is breathable and one of the coolest fabrics to wear in the heat of the summer plus it doesn’t wrinkle much like cotton. The problem with bamboo fabrics is the chemicals used to process the bamboo are toxic. So it’s better not to wear clothing made from those fabrics. Lyocell is another type of bamboo fabric and Tencel is a fabric made from the wood pulp of bamboo or some trees.

@AllelujahHaptism How do they sell any of the polluted things that are being sold all over the world??? There are thousands of things with toxic chemicals in them. We usually don’t find out until decades after we’ve used or consumed them. Two years ago I was diagnosed with two different types of cancer at the same time and a third one was developing. So many toxins in our water, food supply, hygiene items, clothing and environment.

@cherokeepatti im sorry

@AllelujahHaptism I was anemic for more than 2 years despite getting tested, going to a doctor and taking iron supplements every day. It took me two years to get my iron levels to almost normal. Then I gradually came back to normal. What happened was during that time I was using two shades of lipsticks (L’Oréal Endless) that were later discontinued. I got my iron levels up after that. Then I read an article where an independent consumer agency tested a lot of different lipsticks and found 25 that had high levels of lead in it. They were discontinued after it was discovered but nothing in the news about it. I stopped taking iron and stopped being anemic. Lead is a potential carcinogen too. And chromium hexavalent and arsenic, very high levels of it were found in our city water supply. I wasn’t really surprised that I had cancer, it takes 25 years after having arsenic water every day for cancers to start developing.
from what I've been lead to believe/understand, it can be great as a fabric, but it's environmentally terrible.

@dirge oh :/ i didnt know about that :/
i heard they were better over than cotton? :/
@AllelujahHaptism think it's where you want to take the hit. cotton is a resource hungry crop, fertilizer, water, even the sorts of ground it can use. it's not free as far as processing, but it's not as much as bamboo. but bamboo is a grass, so it's easier on the growing, but it's a bigger hit on processing the fibers.

@dirge not such a great thing then -_-

No but I had a bamboo blanket for several years. It used it during the summer because it was very cool
AllelujahHaptism · 36-40, M
@itsok could be bad later in the year for me then O.O
itsok · 31-35, F
@AllelujahHaptism you could have summer boxers and winter boxers. That’s what I did with my blanket
AllelujahHaptism · 36-40, M
@itsok i'll have to, finding ones i like is the problem though -_-

I have bamboo bed sheets. They kind of flow like silk, but don't look as silky, and feel like cotton, but are more durable, harder to fold, more absorbent, faster drying and cooler against the skin.

@faery theyre alive!! drinking the water lmao

@AllelujahHaptism My description did sound rather anthropomorphic 😆

I have a bamboo shirt and bamboo washcloths. They are all very silky soft.
AllelujahHaptism · 36-40, M
@nonsensiclesnail good to know, my brain is struggling with the very concept of wearable bamboo lmao
