Antique Stores Any else into hitting antique stores? Looking for anything in particular?

My mother owned one for almost 20 years and my dad stripped and refinished furniture, i sometimes helped, into and after his retirement until my mother passed. If I don't see another antique chair that needs repair the rest of my life I'll be fine.

Whenever I hear the word antique, it reminds me of my mom coz she loves those stuff. She could spend the whole day at the store then comes home in a car full of antique stuff. She has great taste. Just like me.

I used to have my own tiny antique stall at a local flea market. I used to go to May's huge once-a-year antique fair in far western Massachusetts...I had my book...(Kovell's)...and tried to educate myself about what had value and what did not.

It’s fun to browse. And if some things have a nostalgic appeal they are really fun in bringing back memories.

Antique, mission or Goodwill anywhere there may be something interesting. I don’t look for anything in particular but just things that strike me the right way.

I like lower end ones. Lots of kitsch items and such. I've been collecting old photos, slides, negatives, etc. I scan them and share online

Not in years, but when we first married we were looking for Ar Deco pieces. These days the only old things I buy are books.

I used to do it, especially when visiting small, old towns. I never went in with something in mind. I just love browsing and maybe finding that one cool find.
