Store incident.

I was just in a store. The manager was outright yelling and screaming in frustration and trying to bully a young man into overtime.

Because there was a lot of stock to put out-was her reason.

I beelined to that area of the store, and purposefully went down the aisle where the incident was taking place, she kept yelling on front of me for a bit until she noticed I was looking directly.at her, then she quieted her tone some and quickly wrapped up her bullying.

With raised eyebrow, I said "ma'am are you ok, because that was NOT ok"

I was very tempted to say in front of her, "I'll give you a hundred dollars right now not to work overtime today for a crap boss like her" but that would be putting him in an awkward position.

She huffed at me and walked into a back room.

What a bitch.
I checked on the young man, I think he's not ok. Sounds like she's always a bitch. But he needs the job. Tale as old as time. Employer abusing their employees to their benefit.

I'm currently emailing a complaint.
Which probably will be meaningless.

Not all heros wear capes!! You're the hero of the day Scribs. ❤️❤️❤️ Thanks for sticking up for him. Those of us who can, I think, have an obligation to do. You did. 🏆

@sarabee1995 I'm quite surprised that my email did something! I've had several emails back already. The latest one informed me that the district manager has visited the store in question and is taking immediate action. And thanked me again for informing them

Wow, they moved fast.

@Scribbles That's awesome! You impacted that guy's life! 🦸‍♀️
Scribbles · 31-35, F
@sarabee1995 no proof of that
But I hope some positive change happens. He looked flipping miserable. Who wouldn't be in his shoes?
Matt85 · 36-40, M
Definitely send that email.
Scribbles · 31-35, F
@Matt85 already done :)
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
Well the email is the most appropriate way of dealing with the aftermath, even if you feel it won't achieve much. Although I suspect the company will be rather more concerned about their manager acting unprofessionally in public sight than they will be with the feelings and rights of the worker 😟
Scribbles · 31-35, F
@SunshineGirl Yeah I wondered that too. :/

Is this store part of a chain?

Write to the board of directors, tell them you will not use the store again until that manager has been retrained.
Scribbles · 31-35, F
@OliRos Not sure, how this chain of stores operates. I will attempt to look into it.

Good for you!

I am getting mad at that manager just by thinking about your post!
Scribbles · 31-35, F
@DrWatson Thanks. I'm mad at the manager too. :/
Teslin · M
Good for you and thank you for putting her in her place!! Hopefully she'll learn, but probably not.
Scribbles · 31-35, F
@Teslin putting her in her place?! Never. I believe people all have equal worth. Just some people can be asses.

I just didn't want her or anyone to think it is right to yell or bully someone to solve their problems. And yes, I hope she learns.

I sent a letter to hsrrassing pawn shop managers and they both got fired
Scribbles · 31-35, F
@NinaTina Nice! Great job! :)
Kudos to you ! 👍🏽

@bijouxbroussard Thanks, I wish I had said or done more at the time. But hopefully what little I did helps somewhat. :/

I've already received an email back that said, "Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We are dedicated to ensuring our employees are treated well and fairly. I will send this information to the District Manager to investigate this matter immediately." So hopefully that is true and things can change for the better.

Btw, Hope you are doing alright. I was thinking of you and several friends of mine recently who have lost loved ones. I know it is sometimes extra hard when holidays roll around. 😞
