I definitely do. I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, but I also need alone time to "regroup" (recharge the batteries in a sense).
I don’t know if that’s an introvert thing, but it’s always been necessary for me. 🥺

@bijouxbroussard A psychiatrist once told me that I was a "social introvert." I get along fine in groups and at parties, but my "recharge' activity is being alone. (for others, it is the socializing that is the recharge activity.)

@DrWatson Yes, that’s the difference. My best friend is (and my mother was) very extroverted. The more people around, the more animated and lively extroverts seem to become.

@bijouxbroussard the earth is graced by your presence like beauty walks the night. Lifted high on raven wings taking on stunning height
Tumbleweed · F
Very much so, yes.
I live alone, I don't socialize & I don't like company so being alone is extremely important to me.

@Tumbleweed same. I come here to see how people think then I shrink away when I’ve dug too deep
DrWatson · 70-79, M
Absolutely. I need periods of solitude.
Fortunately, my wife understands that and is happy for me that I can find those times.

@DrWatson I was really lucky my parents understood it (especially my father, also an introvert) and my husband did, too.

I have come to embrace my alone time after years of being deprived. Now that I live alone annoyance comes from being disturbed
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
I do. But I am retired and usually have enough alone time now. Had too much doing Covid and chemo and felt too isolated.
WandererTony · 56-60, M
I am a borderline introvert. Means i tire even though i seem very talkative in crowded places.
My me time is essential for me to regain sanity.

I’m alone but also never alone. It’s hard to explain. I’m sure anyone reading this can understand though
Ducky · 31-35, F
Yep. That's why I first started waking up extra early, around 3-4, to have my me time.
GuyWithOpinions · 31-35, M
