I am 34, and never been to a funeral.

Matt85 · 36-40, M
aww, you can come to mine :)
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
Why not? I have been to many funerals from the time I was 6 and my grandmother passed away.
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@hippyjoe1955 why are you botherin me.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@nobodyishome Just asking you uncomfortable questions.
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@hippyjoe1955 Like I said before, I can tell you a lot of things, but because you are older, and out of respect, I don't want to mess with you.
exexec · 61-69, C
Good. I hope you don't need to attend many in the future. I was asked to speak at 9 funerals in 2023, but only 1 in 2024, thank goodness!
being · 36-40, F
@exexec you were asked to speak in 9 funerals ?
exexec · 61-69, C
@being Yes. I have been active in our church for many years, and some older people know me better than they know the pastor. Just last Sunday, one lady asked me to be sure to do the eulogy for her and her husband when the time comes. Of course, I am honored to do it.
being · 36-40, F
@exexec nice, it's an honour yes
Lostpoet · M
]You can come to mine
invisiblewoman · 36-40, F
@nobodyishome now that is funny cause all men would not hit on you and secondly i see no reason to be jealous. You are delusional.
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@invisiblewoman oh trust me I know
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@invisiblewoman I wasn't trying to be mean
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
I've been to too many. Keep up that trend!
being · 36-40, F
somehow that sounds good
OldBrit · 61-69, M
Blimey is been to several by then including my Dad's and my wife's brothers.
OldBrit · 61-69, M
@hippyjoe1955 I'd have to really think about it but definitely

Dad, 2x grandmothers, wife's grandmother, wife's brother, memorial service for friend who died in Falklands War.
OldBrit · 61-69, M
@nobodyishome English slang for God Blind Me - exclamation of surprise.
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@OldBrit
Dad, 2x grandmothers, wife's grandmother, wife's brother, memorial service for friend who died in Falklands War.

I'm sorry
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
That's kind of a function of where you are at and how many peopls you know and if they even want to have a funeral. In my case, I'm kind of the last one left standing. Grand parents, aunts, uncles, parents, and brother are all gone. Even outlasted a girl friend and had one still birth. It's a weird feeling to know that you're next in line. Funerals are expensive. I don't even have a burial plot reserved. My will just says to inurn my ashes by a big oak tree in the pasture.
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@Tastyfrzz I'm really sorry to read that. I don't know what to say. A biggg hug to you. I'm sorry.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
@nobodyishome It's just the way it is.
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@Tastyfrzz I'm sorry! I wish the best for you!
HumanEarth · F
Sometimes that happens, at least you're not going to your own funeral. Now that would be weird seeing your own dead body sitting there
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@HumanEarth like in Vampire Diaries. 🧛
Just tell everyone you're a teenager, they will believe you.
@nobodyishome Just say thank you 😠
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@SinlessOnslaught Thank youuuuuuu
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@SinlessOnslaught Aaah now I get the compliment. Thanks! :)
Im 41 and have never seen a dead body in person.. i even went to a stranger's funeral just to see one but he had already been cremated..
GuyWithOpinions · 31-35, M
Its boring and sad. Your not missing out.
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@GuyWithOpinions ohh sorry, I think I was at one. My grandma. I was 10 or so. A lot of drama. I like christian funerals more. I saw in TV. Very classy
GuyWithOpinions · 31-35, M
@nobodyishome my grand parents were christian. Yeah funerals can be fancy.
You are lucky. I'd been to both my parents funerals by 36
scorpiolovedeep · 51-55, M
Been to more than a dozen funerals (friends and family).
Degbeme · 70-79, M
I`ve been to too many.

I`m not going to my own.
fanuc2013 · 51-55, F
Not fun, but sometimes necessary
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@fanuc2013 yes, I understand what you mean
Dayman343 · M
You will. I actually prefer them to weddings
chasingThursday · 36-40, M
I was at one yesterday
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@chasingThursday really. Sorry!
496sbc · 36-40, M

nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@496sbc I will take that as a compliment
KingofBones1 · 46-50, M

Starcrossed · 41-45, F
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@Starcrossed little bit scared.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
@nobodyishome understandable. In my 30s I decided that if at all possible when there's an open casket, I don't go visit the body. I want to remember people as they were and seeing the body has always burned into my brain quiet unpleasantly and unnecessarily.
Bang5luts · M
You're lucky. They are very sad events
