Do you have trouble falling asleep at night?

What helps you drift off to sleep?
The only thing that works for me is Beer or Rum Sodas but that is not healthy lol

Here's what you do and it works every time if you have a smart TV in your room...

1. Turn the TV on
2. Put something on that is interesting but not too interesting.
3. Adjust the volume so that you can hear something is being said but you are struggling to hear what it is they are saying
4. On your remote find the 'sleep' mode button and set it for one or two hours. If there is no sleep mode button on the remote look for it in your TV settings.
5. Now lay your head on a soft pillow and try to hear what is being said. It won't take long before your brain will give up trying and you will drift off to sleep.

...I'm not kidding ...lol

Another thing most people don't know is that it is very important to wear a sleep mask at night because even the slightest bit of light, like a night light, will tell your brain that it is daytime and you should be awake.

You can thank me later! :)

@Wallflow3r
Super!

@laurieluvsit my wife always wore a mask but I don’t care, I can fall asleep anywhere
You get used to it
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
@laurieluvsit just watch "how it's made"; you'll be out like a light by the 2nd or 3rd episode... 🤔

Yeah I get really depressed/anxious at night and will just lay awake thinking about things. Listening to my partner reading something boring or playing brown noise helps. I got one of those sleep masks with the bluetooth headphones built in and it's been great.
At times .. other times its challenges falling back to sleep if I wake up during the night, which is at least 2-3 nights each week

Honestly nothing helps aside from sheer physical tiredness. I have to be worn out for my body to overcome the mind not wanting to shut down
try weed or gummies....i know someone who uses cbd oil....he swears by it (and you don't get high from it)
@Wallflow3r any weed shop....do youb have weed stores in your town? i know some municipalities around us dont hand out licenses....they do in my town though
Wallflow3r · 31-35, F
@beermeplease There is lots of weed shops around me I didn't know they sell CBD oil though cause it technically doesn't have THC in it, but Idk should I go to any weed store and just ask? There is one that is 10 min walk from my house.
@Wallflow3r i once got it for my mom from the one on granville st s.van

I have trouble not only getting to sleep , but staying asleep. Been an insomniac most my life. I hope something works for you.
White noise or a fan and sleeping breathing techniques which you can find on YouTube are what have helped me.

Basically breathing is different when awake vs sleeping and the fastest wake to go to sleep is to change your breathing...

Basically take at least three big LONG breaths, slowly in though the nose and hold for just a tad and out through the mouth slowly taking long calm breaths

I world build in my head. I have three different universes I’m building…a sci-fi, and science fantasy and a fantasy comedy, and I make stories in them.

Nice way to focus my adhd insomnia and drift off to sleep.
Wallflow3r · 31-35, F
@Zaphod42 I do that too but I get carried away and it ends up keeping me awake
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
@Wallflow3r What keeps me awake are random thoughts that suddenly need answering…like why do ships resume normal sublight speeds when dropping out of warp instead of gradually coming to a stop or even continuing ballistically at super luminal speeds 😅
Wallflow3r · 31-35, F
@Zaphod42 When I was a kid I would randomly think at night about how if I jumped out of plane on a chair and I jump off the chair before it hit the ground that I would somehow survive HAHA
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
Eh, sometimes. I drink a cup of golden milk before bed and take some magnesium glycinate to help me doze off. And I read the subtitles on my muted bedroom tv to really knock me out.
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
@Pretzel Of course 🙂
Wallflow3r · 31-35, F
@PerfectionOfTheHeart Will def try this! I love Ginger and Turmeric.
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F

So I read myself to sleep. I don't drink pop ( Food Allergy ) beer and booze just makes me pee a lot.

Watching TV is noise that bugs me when I trying to sleep

@Cigarguy101 Same! I managed to fall asleep near 3 am and slept in until 10 am so it wasn't too horrible cause that's 7 solid hours of sleep.
