Make a list of the attributes you want in a mate. Then you wont get the random ones that don't suit. Such as. 1. They keep them selves healthy 2. They are balanced with money and finance. So on and so on ..... Then you wont have to put up with a smoker.
I suppose a bit awkward if you need a Christian partner, all that business about not yoking your worst and best oxen together ;) (yeah I spent a long time in the church but had to move on) it would limit your opportunities.

It'll be good, if either of you feels you've acted unnaturally during the date (I've done it and wondered why did I do that?) Just ask for another chance and say I felt I was a bit weird, daft, unnatural or whatever word, tonight. To my shame I've binned people after one date when I could see they were just nervous, acting funny etc.
