The last time I went to a bookstore it was crowded and there were no men.

I see a hot guy every time I go to the bakeshop. They're just probably hungry.

Some guys don't; I do. Checking my stats on StoryGraph, I've read 22 books so far this year; 8740 total pages, mostly fiction. Last year was 43 books, 18600 pages according to StoryGraph.

However, much of my reading I obtain using the Libby app to electronically borrow from the library and read at home on a Kindle. My bookstore browsing is mostly the rare cases where I'm looking for a children's book for our 3-yr old great niece.

Lol…… they’re all at home waiting for their chosen books to be made into shows and movies so they can watch them on their streaming services.

I love reading, but I buy all my books online. Barnes and Noble is the only bookstore in my town, and they're expensive af. I probably haven't been there in two years. I was spending a few hundred every time I used to go in there.

Thing is…, we tend to think in circles of rationality and factuality.
We don’t often allow sentiment and nostalgia to affect the ways we tend to think and act.

We order books from Amazon as they are cheaper and we can find exactly what we wanted in mere minutes if not seconds. Or we tap the app that reads our books for us on our rides home from our 10 hour day at that seemingly worthless construction job, knowing that we’ll fall asleep 2 pages in if we try and sit and read on a Thursday night.
