I have a re-occuring dream of being lost in a city with no possessions and no way home . In the dream I am always walking thruogh a big city with a backpack and I can't find a bus or way to get back home. It is just mindless walking and not recognizing anyone or resolving my lost issue.
I got lost in real life hiking a number of times before smart phones. Sometimes I think it is a varation of that past experience of being lost but in a city vs in nature with limited resources. It is an unnerving feelign to be lost in nature even if just for a few hours but I am not sure how to describe it. I have that same feeling in my dream even though I am in a city in it.

@robertsnj I've had this kind of dream too except I somehow had nowhere to go, no home to go back to. It was a very strange feeling to be a stranger in an unknown city in the evening with nobody to turn to and watching all the people going their way, to their homes. Once I think I even saw people I once knew but I couldn't turn to them.

In a six month period in 2021 I had four different nightmares where four of my kids died. One in each nightmare Only one of my kids I didn’t have this nightmare about. It was so unsettling and I still think about it

As a teenager, I had a recurring dream of driving on a narrow mountain road in the Georgia mountains. A girl is by my side. Suddenly we round a curve and a big logging truck is coming toward us, blocking the whole road. We go over the side of the mountain., .I dismissed it as a remote possibility since I had no plan to drive in the mountains. Then Lynn enrolled in a college in the mountains. All of our dates up there involved driving on the roads of my dream. The dream kept occurring until she graduated.

Can I name 2.
First was a pitch black figure that was walking towards me and in my dream i was trying to run away and wake up but the dream setting would just change and the figure kept walking after me and when it reached me I woke up.
Second was a meteor smashing into earth and it was so vivid it scared me. 🥺

@Lilymoon I genuinely burst out laughing. That sounds more hilarious than scary 😂

@SW-User so I grabbed a broom and started hitting it but every time I hit it, it grew bigger it was terrifying. Thank God I woke up 🤭

@Lilymoon This conversation reminds me there's a horror film called the fly. I think I'm going to watch it again. 😆

Some months ago, I experienced sleep paralysis and by far it was my worst one.

No nightmares
But sleep paralysis was always dreadful for me.

@Bleak I still struggle with it at times, but I've never witnessed terrifying manifestations as some claim to have seen
My PTSD nightmares!😬

I don't remember. Something when I was a little kid. Most probably related to fire.
