Depression doesn’t have a face. We have to get serious about mental illness… we are losing too many.

We don’t always know what mental illness looks like.

My Son lost his life to it! 😞.

I fight it daily myself and empathize with others.
@WillaKissing RIP to him and my condolences to you. Stay strong.

Thank you. Means a lot. 🤗 I hope you remember to take care of yourself too.
@turningthekeys I try. Good support means a lot and I do have that. I may lose my fight with this someday but I will keep trying… I promise.

So much pain out there, such little empathy

And the worst thing that we as a society do (I say we because I've been guilty of this myself) isn't ignoring those thoughts. It's encouraging suicidal people to stuff those thoughts. We say, "Don't think about that! Don't have those thoughts. Those thoughts aren't okay!" But that's not how the human brain works. The thoughts don't go away just because you pretend they aren't there.
@LordShadowfire it’s complicated. my wife is constantly checking with me and reading from experts on how to deal with my issues including depression and schizophrenia. it’s not easy and I could never ask her to help me deal but I’m grateful that’s she’s here. Very grateful.
