Is losing respect from others worth getting what you want?

Respect is earned, but there are some people from whom respect is not particularly important for me because they are so far off my values that I would be suspicious of being respected by them. I’m not sure what would be worth having that would involve sacrificing respect from people I respect.
@FreddieUK Well put

Depends? If it's just selfish pleasure I would say No.
If it is something that will grow you as a person then losing respect from people who don't have your best interest is probaly worth it
AngelUnforgiven · 51-55, F
Absolutely unequivocally NO! Respect isn't taken for granted by me because i put in the work to earn it by having morals and standards. If i can't obtain it and also keep a level of respect seen by others, then i feel that i don't need it.
@AngelUnforgiven Look at her age group, too many of them have been brainwashed into thinking they don't need morals or to respect others.

Depends on the people, most people I don't care what they think of me. There are few that matter a lot to me so it would depend.
Depends. Some people don’t respect the things I value, so I have to assume I would never have had their respect in the first place. Nothing lost there.

Depends on what you want and what they regard as losing respect
