What are you afraid of?

Also, do you remember when it started and how do you cope with this fear?
LadyGrace · 70-79
Not afraid of, but I don't like the thought of dying alone and I hope it never comes to that. Also, I don't want to go to a nursing home. That's the last stop before you start to lose everything, and you're under the control of others, who let you sit in a wheelchair for hours and hours, all drugged up, until you die. That's not the way anyone should go out.
LadyGrace · 70-79
@Tres13 that doesn't make it okay
Tres13 · 51-55, M
Would make you happy @LadyGrace
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@LadyGrace Oh, there are so many of who understand and share that fear.
reubles · 41-45, M
If I'm being honest, rejecting a possible kidney transplant
LadyGrace · 70-79
@reubles

Honey, you would be asleep and not even know it until you wake up and it's over with and they will give you very good pain medicine to keep you comfortable. So please don't reject it.
This fear creeps in my mind whenever I’m going somewhere alone in a secluded area. The fear of abduction. As a child, I was almost kidnapped and I remember the fear I felt from that man. I feel like if he succeeded, I would have been dead at 5 years old.
LadyGrace · 70-79
@666Maggotz oh I can't even imagine the fear. You poor thing. I'm so happy you got away.
PEACH4LIFE · 46-50, F
Many things but snakes and falling in love again are my top things. I can always remember being afraid of snakes because my mom was terrified of them. Love because the one person I loved and trusted most destroyed me emotionally. Coping mechanism is staying far away from snakes as well as love!

I get afraid that all my best efforts won’t be enough. It’s less tormenting than it used to be now that I’ve accomplished a number of things I was terrified I couldn’t pull off and circumstances have improved. I still worry for my kiddo’s future though.

For me, when I get scared I start doing research on the topic and strategizing or networking. Acquiring knowledge, being proactive and preemptive helps me feel more in control of however life may turn out and less afraid.
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
I am afraid of the future. It started on 28th September, the day when my mother died.
And no, I can’t cope this fear at all. 😞

I was afraid of Global Warming but now Climate Change is overwhelming me

@Tres13 400 of the world's elite took their private jets to the climate change summit this week, so they can tell the rest of us to eat grasshoppers to "save the environment!"

Stupid, inane questions and statements. It started when I joined SW three years ago. I cope by ignoring them or responding with snide comments! 😂

Thst one day my children will grow tired of me and leave me too.
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
I'm afraid of me outliving my parents...

it's gonna happen, either that or the otherway around. But I think they'd agree, the latter would be worse.
RedBaron · M
@caPnAhab I once felt that way, but to my surprise, I found it easier to deal with when it actually happened. Perhaps because they lived to be 87 and 88 and went quickly with little suffering.
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@RedBaron ah yeah. Everyone's gotta have their turn. Glad you took it well and they suffered little
RedBaron · M
@caPnAhab And there are two good things I have found. One is that many of us are emotionally equipped to "rise to the occasion" and handle, albeit with some sadness, whatever crises come along during our lives. The other is something you can't and won't realize until after the fact. At least for me, there is great relief that it has already happened and I will never have to go through that particular loss again.

This commercial when I was a Child. I use to have Nightmares of this lip creature. I didn't want to sleep anymore. When I got older they don't show it anymore

LadyGrace · 70-79
@FreestyleArt that's not a very pleasant commercial for children, no and the voice sounds scary. I'm sorry you experienced that.
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
@LadyGrace everytime that Commerciel comes on. I punch the TV button to turn it off. I freaked out and run to my room

Overpopulation....not in my case as I am ready for death and lived long enough but for the generations that will survive me...I feel for them.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@caesar7 Over-population... and that combined with dwindling supplies of so many basic things, plus whatever climate change may or may not bring.
caesar7 · 61-69, M
@ArishMell A very scary thought indeed!!
