"Buying a house is the key to building wealth"

^ This was fine advice back when job security & company loyalty existed, and you worked at the same factory or whatever for 40 years and then retired. Nowadays, the best way to build wealth is to chase opportunity, and that means not settling down in one place forever.

@BlueVeins doesn't help that down payments went from needing to save for a few years to needing to save for a few decades.
