Do you have something to hide? I imagine they're making sure this isn't a vindictive report and that both parents homes are safe.

If you gave them information on your relationship they will need to meet in person and you will probably need to sign papers

Yes it's legal. It's literally not about the parents. It's about the child. So they are making sure the child is safe and not in the homes of a bunch of insane people.

It's most likely a formal interview
