I am super insecure about how I look in clothes.

This past weekend I bought a puffy winter coat. In preparation for 30 degree mornings, down to 0 degree ones coming soon.

To me the coat is perfect. So warm, puffy with down feathers, black in color, LONG sleeves, coat down to the knee...but comes out at the hip for shape...a tiny bit.

I love it....but I feel enormous when I wear it. I feel huge.

I feel like my all the employees (all 25) will laugh at me behind my back because I am so huge and obnoxious.

I am the only female at the small company.

These are my normal thoughts. I hate it. Men? Honest thoughts. Which woman have you made fun of? Turtle neck lady? vest lady?

Well, making fun of people (especially behind their backs) is just the way humans operate on a daily basis across all cultures. In the end you have to decide if that is what you are going to allow to rule your life or your own values.

If enjoying your puffy, oversized coat is enjoyable to you, but not worth people talking about it in unfavourable ways, then you might as well just declare yourself as trendy. You will escape people talking behind your back about that, but not on other things. But, at least you won't have to worry about THAT. If that is important to you...

In my experience when it comes to name-calling and being horrible behind someone's back it's not men you generally need to worry about.

@HellsBelle If I have anything to say I usually say it to someone's face, though more often than not in a joking way, and usually if they are wearing dungarees 🤔

I think clothes primary purpose is to be functional. I only wear what I feel is comfortable. I happen to like warm clothes, so I wear my leather boots and black wool coat all the way into summer. People continue to say "you look crazy wearing that when it's spring", but no, I'm perfectly comfortable and they're just oversensitive to fashion.
