Depends on where you live. I have seen it get hot enough here in October to need to use the a/c especially if it’s been raining and the house is humid. It helps to cut down on mold if you reduce the humidity plus raises the comfort level in the home. And if you cook that raises the temperature in the house, just having the a/c on for 20 minutes really helps even if it’s not hot outside.

@cherokeepatti If the heater kicks on, it would be wasteful and costly.

@Poppapepe is it a big hassle to keep the heater turned off until you need to use it?
@cherokeepatti I have old pipes that freeze up easily, but it hasn't got that cold yet. My a/c weighs a lot though, twice a a year is about all I can handle, and that is pathetic on my part I know, but..... well anyway, thanks for sharing your ideas.🤗

Nope. Seal around it well and put a heavy bag over it and tape it up and seal it till spring. I would wait till halloween.

@IstillmissEP I have had that happen before, but I'm getting some pretty good ideas from people to hopefully change my luck. Thank you for understanding my dilemma though 🤗🤗🤗
if it's a potential problem, could you just rig a way to hold a few towels over the unit in place?
