Should I take in my window a/c unit yet?

The last three nights have dropped down to 48°F. It's pretty heavy to lift and set up, but if my heater kicks on, I don't want to be wasteful. I go through this every year and seems like I always make the wrong decision 😑

Depends on where you live. I have seen it get hot enough here in October to need to use the a/c especially if it’s been raining and the house is humid. It helps to cut down on mold if you reduce the humidity plus raises the comfort level in the home. And if you cook that raises the temperature in the house, just having the a/c on for 20 minutes really helps even if it’s not hot outside.

@Poppapepe Is there any advantage of taking it out right now? What would it hurt to leave it in the window for another month?

@cherokeepatti If the heater kicks on, it would be wasteful and costly.

@Poppapepe is it a big hassle to keep the heater turned off until you need to use it?

@cherokeepatti I have old pipes that freeze up easily, but it hasn't got that cold yet. My a/c weighs a lot though, twice a a year is about all I can handle, and that is pathetic on my part I know, but..... well anyway, thanks for sharing your ideas.🤗
