Should I take in my window a/c unit yet?

The last three nights have dropped down to 48°F. It's pretty heavy to lift and set up, but if my heater kicks on, I don't want to be wasteful. I go through this every year and seems like I always make the wrong decision 😑

Nope. Seal around it well and put a heavy bag over it and tape it up and seal it till spring. I would wait till halloween.

@TexChik that's a good idea, but it is in a second story window, and my ladder is not big enough. Good thinking though, thanks for the idea 🤗

@Poppapepe if its secure, leave it. I know some who tape a heavy moving blanket around theirs and then put the cover over it (for insulation)

@TexChik I like that too 🤗 someone else said towels, but I have an old sleeping bag that might work for a little bit. Thank you TexChik🤗

@Poppapepe You dont want it too thick, it will look unsightly. There are commercially made insulated covers you can Amazon.

@TexChik I'm not to worried about unsightliness, I don't get visitors, but I should probably follow your advice to the letter, you are more successful than I am.

@Poppapepe If its bulky it tends to catch more snow and ice and get heavy. Not good for window units

@TexChik I should have it pulled in before that happens, I'm just trying not to get stuck being too early and then sweating like a bandit later 😊
