There isn't one way to do it. It's something you have to work at every single day. Just do what makes you feel good and be more forgiving with yourself. If there's something you use to compare yourself to other people (Facebook, Instagram, etc) stop using it or unfollow/unfriend the people that make you feel bad about yourself. Take a day once a week to pamper yourself, work on learning a new language or a skill that'll make you feel more valuable, set realistic goals... Just make sure that you always tell yourself that you ARE worth it, and that there are so many things to worry about besides beauty. Whether you can offer something to the world, whether you can improve the lives of those around you, that's what matters. That's what people will remember about you. Not how you looked.
Sorry that this was long and rambly.

Its a long process but it can be done.
First, look in the mirror and say your self, with sincerity, "I love you", You are beautiful", you deserve joy, happiness, love, friendship, companionship."
Things along those lines.
Learn to accept your self, you good and your bad, your strength and your weakness,
your highs and your lows. All that makes you, you, accept it. Know that no one is perfect and neither are you. You are beautiful and unique, and precious and priceless and one of a kind, just like everyone else.
Know that what people call you and what you answer to are two different things. No one can take your joy or strength unless you let them.

don't think about it.. imagine looking like elvis and having a wife with cancer and... you've been in your own business for ages....
now, after all the torture and jokes you're actually starting to think about becoming and elvis impersonator because there's some money in it.
i'll get by on the appearance... BUT i can't sing worth a crap.
i don't want to do it but medical crap is hard, i just wanted to be the sickie but no it's hit a loved one and i want things to change for the better and that can be helped along by a wee bit more money.
oh, they talk that giving a little of your soul builds character... i didn't want character dammit!
(if you get my DRIFT)
:/
anyone got a tardis? maybe i can use the time element to make the difference?
:/
(going to bake a cake with fingernails... yeh, that'll make me happy. )

By positive affirmation that begin with "I am". Like "I am worthy enough." "I am good enough." "I am a wonderful person." "I am talented." and "I deserve" affirmations can also help to gain self esteem. Especially "I deserve love." We all deserve love of course, but the thing about self esteem is - and I speak from my on experiences after I was bullied for 5 years as a teenager - I had to gain faith in myself, and not feel overwhelmed anymore by what anyone else thinks. I had to stand up for myself, knowing and recognizing my own worth. In the end, I turned out to gain a higher self esteem, but it didn't go from one day to the next. I needed lots of time, but I made it. :)
