Is it normal or okay to prefer one parent over the other?

I like my mom more than my dad. She's more calm, relaxed, and I can easily joke around and talk to her. My dad though is more loud and tends to yell when he's angry claiming he's just talking, and he takes my jokes way too seriously and our conversations usually fall short just because of his overall aura.
