Can you tell me something positive about me?

I'm at the end of my 24h shift... 2h before I leave.
At the end of my wit
My patients are good but my mood is low af
This is such a pathetic question, but I'm really really really feeling terrible about myself. Some nice words might help me keep up the rest of what's remaining of the day (or night...? lol)
Thanks in advance.

20min later update: now I'm just tearing up for no reason... I guess everything is weighing on me more than I gave it credit for.

You have a caring heart for others.
It is your calling.
It is your gift.
It is what you are meant to do.
Many people, most actually, go through life searching for their purpose without finding it.
Congratulations.
You have found yours.
You are truly blessed.

You are a truly good person. You were very caring about my sister's condition, and I really appreciate it. 🦋🍀🪻

@Friendlyperson She suffers a lot, daily. But we are going to see another specialist soon hopefully in January. Ty friend 🫂

@Coralmist
Oh my, she's literally roaming around with that atrocious pain.
I wish she was here I would literally call a friend to do something asap. Or get her hospitalized so her glycemia would be more balanced. This kind of pain and the unbalance is no joke. I wish her a beautiful recovery that will make her forget all the pain she's gone through. 🥹💔

@Friendlyperson Aww ty. She has asked to be hospitalized because her sugars are too erratic at home to manage, and they need to come down, in order to reverse some neuropathy. She asked her doctor and he said they USED to hospitalize diabetics to stabilize sugars years ago, but now it's only if you have DKA (Ketoacidosis). He said he would admit her in if he could. It's sad they can't get her in, and make an exception. But we will see what the next specialist says, and she may see an additional endocrinologist too. Ty for your kindness 💗

Why do they put you through 24h shifts ? I'm sorry you have to push through it. It's normal to feel emotionally intense, lack of sleep does that... But why do you have to push like that, they lack of personal or what ? I'm trying to understand the why..
@being Sadly many fields demand it due to severe shortages, healthcare is one of them, they do not pay support staff enough, administrators get the majority of the salaries, many of them six and seven figures, while nurses are lucky to get even $35,000 a year.

@NativePortlander1970 thank you for explaining... it's sad really, especially thinking the focus the job needs..
@Friendlyperson sorry to hear that! In my humble opinion especially health care worker who need to be seriously alert shouldn't be having to go through that.
I had an ex who worked in military and had something similar, also another policeman friend having long night shifts.
At least for them, the night shift was always giving them an extra day off to sleep the next day. I'm not sure what's happening in your field.
@being You're so very welcome

I'm not a nurse. But thanks for sharing.
You truly are making a positive difference in your patient's lives during the time You tend to them, a smile goes miles further than a scowl :)
@Friendlyperson Not this year, the woman I was with back died in november 2010, her younger son that got the majority of those presents in 2006 turned 40 two days ago on tuesday, I haven't seen him since I left Las Vegas in december 2010.
Friendlyperson · 26-30, F
@NativePortlander1970 I'm so sorry about that. 🥹💔
I hope she is resting in peace. 🥹
@Friendlyperson (((((HUGS))))) Thank You, she had a very horrible death at the hands of doctors that failed to monitor her potassium levels while on IV lasix, and cold turkey'd her off low dose prednisone for constant pulmonary inflammations and arthritis in her spine at the same time, I am sure You can figure out what happened.
