Advice on sleeping?

I often struggle with falling asleep and staying asleep due to paranoia, nightmares, and other related things like sleep paralysis. My anxious thoughts get very overwhelming at night and I just can’t shut my brain off long enough to fall asleep. It definitely takes a toll on my health. So genuinely speaking, does anyone have advice on how to deal with these things? Home remedies? Anything that could help me relax or just any general advice? Thanks 🤍

The simplest method I have tried and has worked so far, sounds silly.

Think of a number, then an unrelated noun, followed by a number then a noun etc
eg 45 elephant 783 dog 3274 rhino

Don't pressure yourself by trying to do it quickly, just do it.

The next thing I usually do is wake up.

Have no idea why it works, it just seems to.

Find a good book and read for about an hour before gong to bed. It won't cure your problem but it may be a good start.

Music, on a low volume slowed.

I find breath control to help. Slow but deep breaths relax me and I’m back asleep. You also got to convince urself ur protected by the Devine to keep the spirits at bay. Think about it if he made the wold in seven days yet u took nine months to be sculpted and prepped for life. You have already been chosen the Devine already has u protected and loved.

...I visualize playing a grand strategy game and relax myself. Im asleep within 5 minutes.

The dreams... well they vary from good to nightmare but generally good. But thats because Im not super stressed out all the time like I was when I was a kid and teenager.

Maybe try to make a relaxing bedtime routine. Put on some music, focus on a hair/face care routine, drink tea. If that doesnt work you could ask your parents about melatonin.

I begun listening to theta waves and a guided meditation preparing me for sleep. It really seems to be working.
