When you were a kid or teen at school, what was the stupidest "game" that the kids used to play?

For me it was this game when a kid would literally lie down on their side on the floor, and then another kid would kick them repeatedly as hard as they could in the stomach, and whoever could hold out the longest without tapping out won.

Like they would set a timer, then write down the time on a piece of paper, and compare the scores of everyone involved.

This game was stupid as hell because... well, do I even need to say why? Lol.

Besides being stupid it's also dangerous as hell because you could end up severely injuring or even killing someone by kicking them repeatedly in the stomach.

And believe it or not, when the kids were playing this game it was when I was in high school when I was 17 years old in the 11th grade. Meaning those kids were about to be legal adults in a year or two, and they're doing this stupid shit? YIKES!

And it was usually just the boys doing this, though the girls made up a "less dangerous variation" of the game... where the premise was more or less the same but instead of kicking in the stomach they'd repeatedly stomp on their fingers as hard as they could before tapping out.

Also incredibly stupid. Less dangerous compared to the boys' version, but also incredibly stupid.

They used to play a hide and seek tree climbing game at the bottom of the school oval away from the teachers. When the 'It' person stopped counting, they would have to climb up after the other kids. The school banned the game after a kid ended up in hospital with a fractured skull.

@Thevy29 LOL. That is dumb, and also dangerous. With the "game" in my story, funnily enough I don't remember any kids getting seriously injured. Literal kicks to the stomach and yet no injuries. But yeah. Fractured skulls are no joke.

@EzraIsShy76028 Another grade tried to play a similar version of the game, running over the school buildings. It ended when my little brother shattered his arm... Then another group tried on the playground but some kid broke 2 ribs when he tried running down the slippery dip and belly flopped... Quite a few injuries for a school with only 300 students..
Unfortunately, considering how many people around that age (and considerably older) follow social media dares and pranks, causing serious injury and even death…this doesn’t surprise me one bit. Some people never grow out of being affected by peer pressure. 🙁

@bijouxbroussard Ah yeah, for sure. As convenient as the internet is, in some ways it also seems to have done a lot more harm than good. I don't think it's a coincidence that these days the younger generations are more depressed and suicidal than ever before. I think there's even been scientific tests to prove this true. With how the modern world works you can't just take the internet away entirely, but I'd just wish they taught young people more about moderation and responsibility.
@EzraIsShy76028 Very true. The advantages of the internet are a mixed bag. 😔

The only one I remember was a reverse hide-and- seek game. "It" would hide and the rest of us would search. If you found "It", you hid with him. Soon you had several people trying to hide in the same place until the last person found the crowd.

@exexec That doesn't sound like such a bad kids' game...

@thisguy20 It was more fun as teens.

WOW!!!!

That makes the going back and forth (one then the other) punching in the shoulder game I remember kids (girls and boys) playing in middle school seem tame.

@EzraIsShy76028 Reminds me of that teen boys' game where they kick each other in the crotch...

@Peter85 With that comment I was talking about the pregnant high schoolers, not the girl who got in trouble with the pedo teacher because of her bra straps. But from the way you're talking you probably have a bra strap fetish or something, huh?

When I was at school, that kind of violence would have been severely punished - with a hiding 🙄
