Do schools still have special Ed

Lately I been seeing a lot of teachers complaining about students that can't read at their class level. Makes me wonder why are these students in normal classes if they can't read or do their class level math. If they can't keep up why are they not in like special Ed. Do schools these days even have that class any longer

My nephews pretty good at school. All A's mostly. (He's getting a little arrogant tho). He has competitions with his friends to see who's smarter xD. A lot of it I think is teaching kids while young with flash cards and stuff. I still say complicated words to him sometimes when he asks "what's that mean?" Then I explain it. I know a lot of parents get annoyed when kids ask so many questions. But if you answer them all with detailed answers suddenly they become a genius. 馃し馃徏 That's my opinion.

In the 80s social promotion and social normalization was popularized and championed in the public schools. As a result the segregation of the mentally handicapped was largely stopped with the exception of the the severely disabled.

Because teachers are over worked.
Classes are too big .
Many kids act over entitled, and many are suffering social disability from dysfunctional social backgrounds .

Kids are still grouped by age, and these days some are behind from the get go 馃様

And I don't think so - at least not here .
We have aides for kids with distinct needs .
